Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1989 Chevrolet K3500 Silverado with the 454 7.4L throttle body injection engine. This truck is a BEAST! I have been rebuilding it for the last several years, and had a ton of fun doing it! ...but now I'm on to my next projects and need to sell this one. Things I have replaced since I've owned it:Complete top end engine rebuild- Edelbrock Performer High Comp Heads #60499- ARP Head Bolts- Weiand Stealth Intake- Comp High Torque Cam- Scorpion Rocker Arms 1.8:1 & 1.75:1 ratio- Custom Tall "Chevrolet" Embossed Valve Covers- High Flow Oil Pump- Overbored 52mm Throttle Body with thin vein louvers - High flow in-tank fuel pump- Computer Tuning locally by ES tuned. Also:- Bored .030 over (work done before I owned the truck)- Hedman Long Tube Headers wrapped in DEI Titanium - Rebuilt 700R4 Transmission w/Transgo Shift Kit & Mag-Hytec Aluminum Trans Deep Pan- New Torque Converter- Pro Comp 17x9 Wheels with 305/65R17 Pro Comp Tires- Air-Lift 100 psi Rear Leveling Kit- Flex-A-Lite Monster Fan 5,500 CFM- External Trans and Oil Coolers (has additional fan, installed but not wired up)- K&N Air Filter- Replaced Stock Radiator- Rebuilt Transfer Case- Rebuilt Front Differential- Rebuilt Front CV half-axles- Mag-Hytec Rear Differential Cover- Pro Comp Shocks- New Front Hubs- New Front Calipers/Rotors/Pads- New Brake Master Cylinder- New Idler/Pitman Arms- New Cap/Rotor w/ MSD Superconductor wires. - New Water Pump w/Aftermarket Pulley- Aftermarket Crank Pulley- 200 Amp Alternator- Rebuilt A/C Compressor- New A/C return lines- New A/C Radiator- Replaced All Front End Ball Joints- Replaced Shoes/Springs in Rear Drums- New Hood- New Grill- New Glass Headlights- HID Low Beams with 5000 lm each- Firewall Lined with Rattle Trap Insulation- All Fluids ReplacedInterior:- Sony Digital Media Deck - Polk Audio 4x6 Plate Speakers- 3x 10" Kicker CVR10 DVC subs (not installed, but go with the truck)- Auto Meter Tach- LED lights Throughout- Custom Floor Mat by Lloyds- Entire Cab / Doors Lined with Rattle Trap InsulationNot-Good Things:- Body is in rough shape. Lived in the north and has a rust problem. I never got around to fixing it up the way I wanted. I did take the time during the rebuild to get all the loose rust off the underbody/engine bay and spray it with Magnet Paint Chassis Saver. - Didn't get a pic of it, but the tailgate is a junkyard replacement and is white in color. - Front right axle seal leaks a little. Despite the rebuild, it decided to start leaking again. It's not bad, but annoying. - Rear main seal was leaking, but I got it to stop with some conditioner. Might start again someday. It's a two-piece so it would be changed by dropping the oil pan, not the transmission. - Windshield wipers work always on low speed, but only sometimes on other settings. I'm guessing there's a loose wire in there somewhere. - Cruise control module is incorrect model for this truck. My guess previous owner bought the wrong one trying to get it to work. I just never got around to fixing it. - ABS. It has never worked and I didn't care, so I never fixed it. - Slow leak in coolant reservoir. I have to top it off every now and then. - Dyno was done before I installed high-flow fuel pump. You can see I ran out of fuel around 3500 RPM. I didn't bother to dyno it again after installing the pump, but I get a few hundred more RPM out of it now. Still not bad with a 3.73 and 33" tires. I know everything about this truck... I think. If you have questions, just ask.
