For Sale is my 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia. It runs well, is an automatic and has air conditioning which blows cold air. It is the closest thing I can think to a ductless mini split I have ever seen in a vehicle and it works very well. This Volkswagen has power windows, however only the driver’s side currently works. The upholstery is in very good condition, with the upper bed upholstery looking new. The rear seat folds down into a bed easily and there is good cushion to sleep on. There are three seatbelts in the back if you have littler passengers, otherwise I would recommend only two. The front and rear tables are in good shape and ready for a picnic. The passenger seat rotates 180 degrees for camping and the driver’s seat rotates 90 degrees as well. The interior lights have been replaced with LED bulbs for more efficiency. The pop top canvas is new, I just have not been able to finish connecting the rear of it on the lower side. The pop top seal is new as is the seal around the luggage tray. The engine runs very well and shifts through the automatic transmission with ease. I would recommend a new exhaust for it as there are some leaks what appears to be around the exhaust manifold gaskets. There is some rust as can be seen on the driver’s side. The engine does not leak and oil, however the front power steering does drip a little bit here and there. This Volkswagen is so much fun to drive, I have never had one before that had working, operational air conditioning as well as an automatic transmission. It will be sold with all the manuals shown as well as the original window sticker from 1987. All the lights work, however the radio does not. It may be wiring, or the radio itself. The water tank does not leak and the water pump works very well as does the sink. The propane stove fires right up and the refrigerator is complete down to the original ice tray. The refrigerator works on AC, I have not tried to use it on DC or propane. The cabinets are in good shape and ready for loading up and travel. Due to the few things here and there that will need to be addressed, I am selling this Volkswagen as-is, where-isThe odometer went crazy at some point before I bought it, so the miles are unknown at this point. This is reflected in the Vehicle history report included in the listing. I will also include all the paperwork for the work done over the years. It is time for my little Westfalia to find a new home…I say with a pause and a sigh. If you have never driven one of these you should and if you have, you know what I am talking about. Sitting over the front axle and driving off to a new adventure in a Volkswagen is like nothing else you have ever done. If you have looked around, there are not too many out there with an automatic transmission, power windows and mirrors, automatic transmission and an interior in as good a shape as this one. This Volkswagen will come with current registration and bill of sale as CT does not issue titles for vehicles older than 20 years.
