The KMZ K750 is the copy of the BMW R71, complete with BMW tooling on the engine. Prior to WW2, the Molotov/Ribbentrop non-aggression pact was signed in 1939 allowing Germany to pursue its expansionist policy without concern that Russia would declare war on Germany. Since Stalin never trusted Hitler, he secretly prepared for war with Germany and one of the methods employed was to secretly acquire 5 BMW R-71 motorcycles that were then completely disassembled and reverse-engineered in Russia. The result of this project led to essentially this bike made in the Ukraine – the Kiev Motor Works K750. I purchased this particular motorcycle from a collector in Canada who imported it from a collector in the UK. Basically everything on the machine is new and it runs. It looks as though it came out of the showroom. The engine is a flat head 750cc, with dual carburetors, oil bath air cleaner with air choke, carburetor ticklers and the lot. It is not a Ural (which are produced in Russia). It's an amazing looking bike, and everything about it says 1939. Complete with built in gas mask container, Jerry can, pannier and trenching tool.Motorcycle includes side car frame.
