Vehicle Detail

The most important word in any vehicle sale is: Maintenance. This 2001 Ford Van has over 53 documented oil changes on only 169,000 miles---that's $5000 in oil changes (Mobil One Synthetic Oil) since 2001. That's an average of about 10K miles per year, which is perfect---beware of vans with low mileage because they may have sat around and not been driven, which is bad for any vehicle. This Ford van was a fleet-maintained vehicle for first year then purchased by a friend of mine in TN who started the private maintenance record, which I have continued since purchasing the van from him in 2013 (maintenance record book will convey with sale). Recent maintenance includes brand new Michelin M/S2 Tires ($1200 and have steel side radials so you don't have to worry about blowout), new shocks, new fuel pump, new emergency brake, new $250 die hard gel battery. Never been in the shop otherwise because these things are bullet proof if well maintained, and there is not another van out there better maintained than this one. Never broken down, never left us stranded. There is a reason Ford didn't change the design on these for 25 years-- I have seen more than 1/2 million miles on these Vortec V8 engines--this one is just getting broken in. If you need a people mover, this is it. We have used this van for running scout troops, volleyball teams, church groups, birthday parties and family vacations, but our kids are off to college and it's ready to service another family. This is the Super Duty 350--it has the factory heavy-duty beefed up suspension and brakes, heavy duty transmission and reliable Vortec motor. Can't compare to the 150 or 250 line. The tires take 80 pounds of pressure--more than double a standard van's tires! Absolutely nothing wrong with the van--no rust, no leaks, no problems, but there is some "road rash" on the outside including dents, dings and scrapes (see pictures) most notably, a dented side rear door, but it's purely cosmetic, so we never felt the need to fix it. Carpet is original so is stained but comes with floor mats, some brand new, some older. Seats are in great shape--front driver has genuine sheepskin cover but original seat is in great shape underneath. Parts for these vans are abundant. Never wrecked. This van would make a great travel vehicle or UBER limo or party van. Cruises on cruise control at highway speeds as smoothly and quietly as it did when new. Gets about 15 MPG but remember, it can haul 15 people, so it takes the place of three regular cars, so that's like getting 45 MPG :) Every seat has a seat belt (note the rear-facing mid cabin seat has three lap belts instead of shoulder belts). The flexibility is remarkable--see pics. Currently, it's configured as a camper with cafe style mid cabin (table and console included), and rear bed (fits up to a full size mattress (not included). All original bench seats will be included in addition to the two mid-cabin captains chairs ($1000). I will even throw in a rolling van seat mount for tailgating. Look at last photo and the foot room with the rear-facing mid cabin seat removed. It's like a living room. Van will convey with custom made TV console (can be used in rear or mounted in the mid cabin--TV not included). Custom wiring distributes video from front DVD player to any number of TVs connected in the rear. Power inverter will run TVs, Game Consoles, coolers, etc. etc. and if front passengers want quiet, it has two wireless headsets as well. Head unit is wired directly to battery so you can watch DVDs or stream music without the ignition turned on--great feature for camping. Stereo has bluetooth, satellite radio with external antenna, DVD, CD, aux input, usb input and SC card slot for maximum versatility. It also has ipod input and will control Apple iPod directly from the touch screen interface. Subwoofer rounds out the entertainment system (mounted under driver seat and controllable separately with dash mounted dial). One of the coolest features is the aircraft aluminum interior LED strips---pictures show blue mode, but lights will change to any color with touch of remote and will even pulse to the music if you choose. Of course it has rear-mounted dash camera which comes on automatically when you put van in reverse. It also has a remote controlled battery disconnect switch for security and to keep battery from running down between trips. Has rear A/C, power locks, power windows, power brakes, Automatic Transmission, cruise control, original cloth seats. I love this van and could talk about it all day long, but will stop here. Ask questions and let me know if you would like any more pictures. Yes I know I am asking above NADA value (which lists at $5650), but only because it's worth it, and doesn't come close to what I have invested. Compare to other similar vans first...basically the van is free and buyer is paying just for the maintenance, but I will consider reasonable offers. I will not reply to ridiculous offers. I encourage you to come see and test drive in person. Atlanta, Georgia area. Listed locally so reserve right to end auction for local sale.
