Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 sedan, model number 6229. This beautiful car is believed to have an original 82,700 miles, and has had a lot of work done to it. It was nearing completion, but I am moving to a different state, which necessitates it's sale. The current list of work completed on the vehicle is as follows: Restored interior Complete rewire Generator replaced with alternator New tires installed (currently low mileage), with a new spare in the trunk New ignition switch Radiator cleaned, all new hoses New belts Front brakes, and rear cylinders serviced Fuel tank removed, and boiled New fuel lines New fuel filter Transmission re-sealed Partial new weatherstripping installed Aftermarket radio Speaker installed under dash New radiator fan Records of all work done while I owned it shall be included with the vehicle upon sale. The work that I am aware of the car requiring is as follows: The car is in primer, but will need to be resurfaced again. Surface rust is forming, I had to vacate my painting facilities 5 weeks ahead of schedule, and shot it with two coats of primer to help stave off surface rust as long as possible. Included with the listing are all paint supplies I purchased at the time. Carburetor rebuild, due to loss of vacuum, which led to poor shift points from the transmission.(The carburetor is currently off the vehicle, as I was searching for a rebuild kit until I decided to list for sale. It will come with the vehicle, boxed and in the trunk) Needs a new exhaust system Needs a new driver's side window, currently cracked Some windows are jammed, and don't roll easily Air conditioner system is vintage aftermarket, likely installed in the 60's, and has not been tested. There is no dash core. The dashboard is a plastic dash insert, that has been anchored to where the dashboard should be. However, the cover does function as a dashboard in and of itself. The vehicle's trim is largely included, but not complete. Some pieces were stolen from the vehicle while I was working . Roughly 90% is included. I DO have the wheel covers, (Hubcaps), and the fender skirts as well, they are just currently off the vehicle. Horn in steering wheel currently does not work, and the included horn ring is cracked. A button has been wired up below the steering column to operate the horn instead. I will be listing a complete, intact horn ring for sale independent of this auction. The trunk doesn't have a lock on it, it is held in place with a bungee cord. The package tray's upholstery has faded slightly. Some of the seals around the glass are drying out. The steering wheel is NOT restored, it has a red and white leather wrap around it. The interior of the trunk has not been touched, and you will have to reupholster/ paint it. I do not know if the windshield wipers are operational. In short, this is a project car, and I am selling it as is. I am told by the previous owner that the car was stored in a warehouse in El Centro California for several decades, and the lack of any noteworthy rust backs that up. It ran and drove before the carburetor started acting up, and I'm not anticipating any surprises, mechanically. I wasn't able to finish it, but I got just within reach. When the vehicle sells, the purchaser is responsible for transportation of the vehicle, it WILL need to be towed. I will not be exporting the vehicle beyond the lower 48. Purchaser MUST be located in the Contiguous United States. I will require a $500.00 deposit through PayPal within 48 hours of the auction close. Full payment will be due within seven days of auction close. Accepted forms of payment beyond the $500.00 deposit are cashier's check, certified from a US bank, or cash in person. The Cadillac is located in Tempe Arizona. I will require the car to be picked up in a timely manner, as I will be moving out of state in September. If you have any questions regarding the Cadillac, I'd be more than happy to answer them. Feel free to message me at any time. Good luck, and happy bidding!
