Vehicle Detail
Hello and thanks for looking at my NO RESERVE auction. Please only bid if you are serious about buying. Up for auction is this very nice driver quality formula firebird convertible with it original engine, transmission, and rear end. I purchased this car from the son of the person whom spent a lot of time restoring it. I have owned the car for only 2 weeks and will tell you everything I see and know. The firebird is Tyrol Blue with new black vinyl interior (seats, door panels, rug) it has a new top and along with motor and pump for the top , but there is air in the line and it needs to be bleed so it can go all the way down (it stops a little short). It looks like there is a new trunk pan welded in. New stainless steel exhaust system. The body and fenders are in great condition, however, there is a little paint bubbling in the front nose of the hood. The engine is the original block and it is running rough, I don't know if it is a timing issue or a tune up issue but it backfires occasionally, I think the original engine should be rebuilt, I'm not a mechanic but it does need a mechanics touch. The frame and floors are solid with no issues. For your safety brand new disk brakes installed on all 4 wheels. I believe I explained everything, if you have any questions please ask before you bid and I will answer them. There is a $1,000 deposit which is non-refundable immediately following the auction so I know you are serious about buying the car. Thank you and good luck.On Jul-31-17 at 12:14:27 PDT, seller added the following information: This Bird is PHS registered , and I have a notebook with all sorts of receipts and the copy of the original bill of sale. This bird had no trunk and door and glove box keys and I made 2 sets of all keys, just flipping it with no reserve and hoping to not lose money. Brought to market under John Z. DeLorean's watch at Pontiac, the original Firebird offered deluxe accoutrements in addition competitive ponycar performance. From 1967 to '69, Firebird offered an unusual single overhead camshaft inline six, available with a four-barrel. carburetor in Sprint models. Pontiac's 326- and 400-cid engines comprised the V-8 offerings. Firebird was little changed for ’68, with deleted vent windows and added side-marker lamps among its minor updates. A redesigned SOHC six was touted, while the mid-year 340-hp Ram Air II 400 V-8 reigned as the year's most powerful engine. here is the link https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1967-Pontiac-Firebird-400?id=82898 copy paste or click
