Up for sale is a royal blue 1992 BMW K1. If you are looking at the ad, I don't need to tell you the history of the K1. Worth mentioning though is the rarity of the year/color combo. Only 310 1992 royal blue/grey striping made. Most K1s were red/yellow and Laguna blue/yellow. Production data is: 1988, 12 units; 1989, 3.574; 1990, 2.120; 1991, 763; 1992, 310; 1993, 142. Total production is 6.921 K1 motorcycles. This bike is in nice shape, not mint, but nice. I bought this from a gentleman who has owned it since 2000. He rode two or three years and parked it in the garage. It has been sitting for roughly 15 years. It will need all the things a bike needs from prolonged sitting. The battery is stone dead, the gas is old and stale, will need a complete fuel system cleaning. The front master cylinder is frozen. The original paint is still nice and shiny. It has some chips on the right side fairing and the normal use wear on the rest. It has never been touched up, the fairing would look much better touched up, will leave that to you, if you you choose to. There are a couple very small cracks in the plastics, nothing major. These were very thin from the factory and known to do that(see closeups). The gas tank has no dings or dents at all, same with the exhaust, very nice. No rips in the seat. There are a couple of small things that I should mention, all no biggy things, but I don't like to leave a buyer with "surprises" if I know about something. One of the 1000 cc labels is missing. The lenses on the two side gauges are a little cloudy(the main gauges, speedo/ tach are beautiful) and one of the clips that hold the seat to the bike was repaired long ago and could use repair again(see last picture)(seat still locks in fine). I purchased the bike a few months ago and haven't touched it. It goes to highest bidder no reserve. I have a clear Florida title signed by the previous owner ready to go. This bike is being sold as is, as described, non running, no warranty. I do my best to describe everything clear and the way it is. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
