This car runs and drives excellent and won't need much to make very nice again.It was just Virginia safety inspected in April of this year and is good until April of 2018. The rare light blue metallic paint is nice and there are no rust holes anywhere including underneath. I just drove this car over 700 miles round trip last week and would jump in it today and not be afraid to travel anywhere and back with it.It also has expensive 18 inch AMG wheels and fat tires all the way around that give this car exceptional corner grabbing skills and a great updated aggressive look.This is not your grandpa's SL500 It also has the AMG hydraulic suspension/shocks. Although it is ready to drive right now there some issues as most 27 year old cars will have. The seat skins are worn and have some holes and the interior in general is a little beat up.The rear center brake light needs repacing because the seal is no longer keeping the rain out .There are stains in the carpet,the door panel doors and console doors are brokenish and the power seats do not work.The cars drivers side lock is NOT working. It has to be unlocked and locked from the trunk or passengers side door lock and also has NO REMOTE and only one key. I would suspect the seat controls are faulty but it could be the seats or motors themselves are maybe just wire contacts or just fuses or there contacts.I also bought this car with no hard top removal tool and I have never removed the hard top so I have no idea how hard it will be to get off or if there is a soft top and frame once the top is removed .I bought it from an auction and got no history with it. I suspect the hydraulics of this car will need servicing. The roll bar switch and top switch don't respond at all when trying to use but the light does come on the top switch so maybe the hard top has to be removed before the switches react?. The check engine and roll bar light do come on and off occasionally also but the 322hp engine in this car runs cool and very quiet, starts immediately EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO START IT. On Jul-21-17 at 02:51:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I noticed yesterday that there was about a quarter inch opening for a few inches on the front parts of the convertible top boot where I could kinda see in with a flash light. This is where the convertible top and frame WOULD BE if they were there. With the flash light I was able to see something that I think is the convertible top frame but could not identify any top material but I would suspect there is something there now. In my original description, I noted I had bought this car at an auction and had never taken the hard top off so I didn't/don't know if there was a top or frame hidden away under the boot. I am still not positive there is anything but I am now a little bit sure there is atleast a convertible top frame. Also , I forgot to mention that one of the rear rims has minor scrapes and one of the lug not holes needs to be drilled out because 2 of the deep dish double headed lug nuts had to be burned off to remove the wheel when I got a flat recently and there is still residue/damage in one of the holes.This falls under, "it is a 27 year old car so other minor things might be wrong with it that I forgot to mention" written the original description.Also. since the auction ends on a Friday night the OVERNIGHT $500 deposit is not required until Tuesday.PLEASE CALL WITH ANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING>571-502-2407 and leave a message if no answer.
