Relisted due to ebayer who sabotaged my auction and had no intention of purchasing the car.FOR SALE 1971 Mercedes Benz 300SEL (W109) Model: 300SEL Engine: M116 3.5L SOHC V-8 with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection Gearbox: 4sp Auto Power: 200hp top speed of 124mph Mileage:78,000 Exterior: Green Interior: Tan Features of this 300SEL model: Pneumatic power locks Sunroof Burl walnut dash Power windows and sunroof Wood trimmed windows Front and rear brake disks Front bench seat insert Rear fold-down arm rest Driver’s side view mirror at arm’s reach Door pockets Air conditioning Cruise control Becker AM/FM radio Front and rear air suspension Recent Maintenance: Full brake service - rotors, pads, flush New ANSA muffler New shocks all around Oil change New steering Wheel The Mercedes Benz W109 began in 1965 as an update to the W111 and W112 sedans. There were five variants of the W109 300SEL during its seven year life yet only a total of 9,483 300SEL 3.5L V8s of this later variant (chassis code w109.056) were produced. The engine starts without issue, pulls strong, and the 4Speed automatic transmission runs through the gears smoothly. When new it produced 200hp and 211lb/ft of torque with a top speed of 124mph. Much, if not all, of that original power has been retained as this example is still very quick. The tan interior makes this 1971 a very inviting place to be and on a nice day you cannot beat a cruise with the large power sunroof opened wide. The wooden dash and Becker AM/FM stereo lend to the classic experience. The seats have been re-covered as has the headliner. The door panels appear to be original and are in fine condition. The windows are all in great condition and allow plenty of light into an already airy environment. All together this results in a cabin that is pleasantly clean and comfortable. A unique features of this W109 300SEL is the air suspension. Front and rear air airbags provide for a soft ride influencing the high level of comfort in this 300SEL. Inspected thoroughly, the air suspension is in fine working order and functions properly. In addition, new shock absorbers, rotors, and brake pads have been fitted all around. Also a new ANSA muffler was installed which both sounds and looks excellent. The exterior does not let down this well sorted vehicle. The paint and chrome look brilliant paired with the tan interior. With minor blemishes, the resprayed green paint suites this German well. Recently replaced Michelin tires and body colored wheels complete the package leaving this example looking dignified. Overall the engine, interior, suspension and exterior all combine to create an excellent driver that turns heads. One will be hard pressed to find an equally fine example, in such a condition that drives as nicely. This car starts, runs, and stops as expected. If you want to own a piece of automotive history, have a classic you can daily drive, or want to purchase a great 300SEL to restore to concourse condition this is the perfect car for you. Amber fog lights are included but not installed. This car is being sold As-Is with no warranty. If you have any questions please ask. Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-TW AR-SA
