1971 BMW R75/5 - Classic BMW Slash 5 Series desired by purists. The 1970s "R" Here! Highly Collectible horizontally opposed 4-stroke, flat-twin, air-cooled boxer engine. Features electric starting and telescopic forks. Air-cooled, four-stroke. 745 cc. Top speed 108 mph. Bing 32 mm carbs. Single-disk dry clutch. 4-speed. Drum brakes. 10,072 of only 10,390 produced, manufactured in 11/71 at Spandau, Germany. VIN # 2986559. Matching Frame/Engine #s. 47,373 miles. I'm the 2nd owner. The bike performs as it should, starts and runs great. All electronics work, lights, horn, turn signals. Additional unique features include tank with knee pads, Euro (race-oriented) style handlebars etc... I had the bike recently professionally painted in original Avus Black. The bike is super clean and in great shape for being nearly 50 years old. I tried to keep the bike as original as possible. It isn't perfect but a really nice example of fine German engineering.
