The first attempt reached $26,200 and I tried to lower the reserve so it would sell, but I was within the 12 hour window and eBay wouldn't let me adjust it. 1957 Volkswagen Convertible in beautiful condition. I'm selling this for my mom and it has a clear title. This car was restored in 1984 by Rich Kimball currently of Bugin.com. It was a 100% restoration and done with top quality materials. Paint, vinyl interior, carpets, German canvas top with felt headliner are in excellent condition. The frame and body have matching numbers 1467635 and the engine number 1-1248020. The 4 speed transmission has been upgraded with a first gear synchro. The car has been garaged stored since its restoration and driven to local car shows and concourses. Miles shown is from restoration to today - 3872 miles. The rust free car is in beautiful condition, but not perfect. There are a few knobs, rubber trim missing but can easily be sourced. It runs and drives wonderfully like a Swiss watch. All lights (headlights, turn signal, running bulbs, brake lights) work. AM Blaupunkt radio (not connected), dashboard clock (not connected) - not sure if they work, but look impecable. Plastic driver and passenger visors and rear-view swivel mirror are in great shape, Seats and door panel are very clean and great condition. No seat belts. New 6v battery. Work done in 2012 - ODO was 3784 - replaced front and rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders, replaced rear brake drums and brake master cylinder, engine tune up. The rubber gasket that goes on the convertible top arms that rests on the windows. (2)4. The rubber gasket that sits under an aluminum plate when the convertible top rest on the body by the rear seats. (4) - I have the small aluminum plates. I lifted the car and I've added more underneath pictures. There is no rust damage on the car.
