Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1971 (Built 12/70) Honda CT 70. 740 Original miles, original paint, original chrome. Candy topaz orange in color. Purchased from an estate sale, seller had no knowledge of the history but appears to be all original with the exception of what I replaced, seat foam, seat cover, 1 fork boot, and the battery. Tires are original with some cracking, but solid and hold air. Paint looks good for it's age, the usual patina, with some chips, scratches, and minor rust but still shines well. Chrome is good overall, some rust on the handlebars, dulling on the rear fender, front fender is nice with a very small dent on the edge. Speedo, horn, and tail and brake light works, headlight does not, probably a bulb. The button is snapped off the headlight switch, but it is still operable. Has the original Honda key. Someone fixed the left side casing with probably epoxy, it's fine, just noticeable so I wanted to mention it. The seat pan had a crack that I repaired before installing the new seat cover and foam. I flushed the tank, changed the oil, cleaned the carburetor, changed the spark plug, installed a new battery and she started in 2 kicks. Runs like new, idles great, no ticks, rattles, noises, no smoke, shifts well, stops well, fires right up in 1 kick. My original intention was to do a complete restoration but it is So ORIGINAL, 740 miles, that I think it's best left that way, they are only original once. So I resisted the temptation to clean (I washed it),polish, paint or do anything to it. It's not perfect, but I think it is just too nice to touch. If it does not meet my very reasonable reserve price, I will do a full resto this winter, but if you appreciate a very nice original CT with nice patina, this is it I have restored dozens of vintage bikes and am fairly knowledgeable, but by no means a Trail 70 expert. I know there are nuances to these that I may not be aware of. I have described it as honestly and thoroughly as I could. Look at the pictures, ask any questions, if you're local, contact me to see it. There is NO title, lost to the ages, I will supply a bill of sale. there is of course no warranty. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due immediately upon auction's end and the balance is due in full by cash or Paypal with in 3 days of auction's end. I can store it indoors for up to 30 days as long as it is paid in full. DO NOT BID if you cannot or will not pay,I will report you and you will be banned from Ebay, On May-29-17 at 11:48:03 PDT, seller added the following information: 3-speed auto.
