I love this car. It’s the first car I’ve ever owned, my baby. It is in great condition, a lot of fun to drive (strong engine, tight braking, great handling, and awesome stereo), easy on the wallet (gas mileage and maintenance), and has a lot of life left (just about to reach the 85,000 mile mark). But it’s just a bit too small for our growing family, so I’ve decided to sell it. This car was made by Volvo HQ in Sweden, NOT Volvo USA. I purchased it through military sales while I was in Germany. Here are the upgrades: - Sport chassis with 19” sport rims. Stiffer ride, but a lot of fun when you get fast. - Most powerful turbo charged engine for the year: five cylinder, 184 hp. This is the same engine as in the S60, but this car weighs quite a bit less (about 3,200 lbs) so it is quick. Standard 6-speed transmission. - Dynamic Stability Traction Control. The car automatically brakes slightly if you corner too hard and start to lose traction laterally (so you don't end up in a ditch). It works well and saved me once from going off the side of the road when I hit an ice patch. - HD Halogen lights. The high beams are like daylight. - Auto dimming rear view mirror. - Sport interior. Driver’s side is showing a bit of wear, but the rest is in good shape. - Premium, 8 speaker surround sound system with sub woofer (6 inch, 140 watt) that wraps around the spare tire so you don't lose trunk space. The sub woofer is NOT after market. It was an addition that was available from Volvo when I purchased the car. Really great sound that I'm going to miss... a lot! - Radio and 6-disc CD player. No external connection, but Enfig Audio in NJ (enfigcarstereo.com) sells a package that ties into the system and makes it iPhone compatible. - Power sun roof. All maintenance and 99% of oil changes have been done by Volvo certified dealers. I recently had a bit of work done, too. - New front end shocks, brake pads, and rotors. - New engine mounts. - Two new tires (after a recent flat). The other two probably will need to be replaced in a year or two. - New sunroof drain tube (an expensive fix, but the new one should last 10+ years). No other maintenance except replacing the ignition circa 2008, which hasn’t caused any trouble since (I think it was a design flaw that Volvo has since fixed).
