Up for auction is 1997 Porsche Boxster Base 2-Door Convertible. This is my first time selling a car on eBay so I'll try to leave a most accurate description as I can. I bought this low mileage beauty a few years ago from an individual who garaged it for most of times he owned. It had 55,000 miles on it and put on about 18k since then. Engine starts and runs fine but there's a problem with gear selector. It feels like two cables running from shifter to gear box are disengaged. I can't go into 1st but can go into 2nd, 5th and reverse and whole thing is very loose and sloppy as technicians call it. Obviously you will not be able to drive this one away but this is an excellent low mileage fixer-upper. This car is currently registered as nonoperational with CA DMV. I couldn't get the required smog check with this faulty shifter issue. Here are list of recent repairs: New top (works great, no tears, no cracks or crease) New front and back tires (all of them looks pretty good) MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow) AOS (Air Oil Separator) Water pump O2 Sensors Spark plugs (not 100% sure) Here are list of things in need of TLC Battery (dead, bad cell) Transmission - there was a slight grind noise going from 2nd to 3rd. It feels like a connector "pop out" or cable was disengaged. It won't go into 1st or 3rd but goes into 2nd, reverse maybe 5th and whole shifter is very sloppy. Missing one of the plastic screens behind headrest.
