Vehicle Detail
Up sale today is a 1935 Plymouth PJ Convertible. This is a very hard to find and rare prewar Mopar. Not many were made and this one is fairly complete, needing only a few parts and tlc to be complete again.I bought this project about 2 years ago with the aspirations the restore but ended up finding and even cooler car to build, so the lowest on the totem pole goes.Everything shown in the pictures is included. Ill break it down as simple as i can, and this lays out the info pretty easily. That being said, i might have missed something, feel free to shoot me a message and ill do my best to get back to you. THE GOOD: Its an original Convertible not a cut down coupe, This is a deluxe pj by the extra trim holes on the body and the set of emblems on the dash. The body was removed off the frame by the previous owner, sandblasted and POR15ed in preparation of a restoration. The original gauges are in excellent shape and the glass is all intact. All original steel, no fiberglass found anywhere on the vehicle. The Hard to find Parts that are specific for this car only are mostly there, including the stainless convertible window frames. Upgraded Nova II Rear axle using original dodge springs The floorboards are in great condtion and are super solid. The original numbers matching PJ 218ci Flathead six and original trans come with the car. the engine number is PJ19956I The Gas tank has been boiled and re-sealed The body still retains the original serial number in the passenger A pillar, it reads, SN 3870132 The engine needs a rebuild but i was told it turns over. THE BAD: It comes with the Convertible top mechanism, it isn't original to the car. The previous owner said its from a 1936 Plymouth and should be compatible. Its currently on a set of older Cragar SS wheels and the tires are only good as rollers As with many vehicles this old, it has areas of surface rust and pitting. The bottom of the doors are the most evident of this. No front seat included, no glass left in the vehicle. Front bumper isn't original, the rear might be correct. Needs window mechanisms, and other odds and ends. Rear roll pan could use some help. THE UGLY: It has 3 places of major rot that I've pictured. The trunklid, is pretty hammered on the outer skin and has isolated ares of rot but the inner structure and rumble seat back spring are all there. Both lower rockers, under the doors have rotted away, the previous owner has started the repairs with the inner structure closest to the frame but just need the final outer edge completed. The passenger door has a rust hole towards the top of the door and needs repair of the outer skin. All and all its a great car. As i said, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have as well as take any other pictures of the vehicle. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. The car is sold AS-IS. No other parts are included. Please make shipping arraignments, or pickup in a timely manner. The car is located in Huntington beach California, I have a good contact to someone who might be interested to deliver in the lower 48 for a fair price if you would like. Thanks and good luck.
