Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Maverick 1969 50cc (later became Gemini SST 50cc) This is a 1 year production bike from 1969. This bike was imported for only 1 model year before the company ran into legal issues for not paying the licensing fees to Yamaha for the use of the engine designs along with other issues. The bikes were then re-branded in late 1970 and 1971 the bikes went to market as the Gemini SST series bikes. Since this is a 1 year production bike it is very desirable to many minibike collectors. I am sure that there are not to many of these 48 yrs old bikes left that are in running condition. This bike is about 98% original. Here is your chance to own a piece of minibike history . These minibikes did not get state registered and therefore they do not have titles. I will give a Bill of Sale. Here is a recap of some of the work that was completed on this fine running minibike: This bike was completely disassembled. Engine was locked up so the cases were split and all bearings were replaced, along with all new gaskets. The cylinder was honed, new rings, rotary valve, rotary valve cover was upgraded to the cast iron style from a later year Gemini engine as the aluminum was shot. The cases were bead blasted and painted silver. The gas tank was restored by a guy who does gas tank restorations as a hobby. The frame was bead blasted and repainted with rattle can paint job. The seat is an original OEM used seat that I got off Ebay, it has a few rips and tears but has the original logo on back of seat cover. The rims were bead blasted and painted, bearings cleaned and lubricated. new tubes and tires installed. Carb was bead blasted and new carb kit was installed. All chrome finish was shot on all parts so they were cleaned bead blasted and painted black or silver, This would included handle bars, exhaust systems, gas cap air cleaner covers. The bike will start on the first few kicks, bike shifts nice through all 4 gears. It is missing the original OEM gas petcock, and exhaust shield and the rubber front fork boots and 1 tank badge. The right side handle bar has a slight bend to it – I’m sure it can be straightened. The muffler has a pin hole about 1 foot from the end. I think the clutch should be adjusted. This bike is a 2 cycle engine with 4 speed with manual clutch. I just uploaded a few clips from today showing the bike in motion (Mar 29, 2017).
