Vehicle Detail

1972 Honda SL 350 K2 Museum quality Up for auction is a meticulously restored, inside and out, 1972 Honda SL 350 K2. As close to new as you are ever going to get, Looks like new, starts like new, runs and rides like new! 1800 Original miles, clean Pa. title in my name, original Honda tool kit, 2 keys. Manufacture date 4/72, so I believe it is a 72 titled as a 1973 as they often titled back then the year they were sold. I,m not an expert, I could be wrong. This bike started as a solid, running, SL350 purchased in Texas. It was completely disassembled, frame was blasted and painted original Honda "cloud silver", new battery box, swing arm decal, new rubber grommets, tank strap, seat cover, new seat base rubber bumpers, rubber isolators for seat catch, air cleaner grommets, air cleaner connecting tube band, all bearings and axles were greased before reassembly, new fork seals, fork dust covers, new fork oil, new fork drain seal gaskets, new chain and sprockets, new front rim, new tubes and tires, new gas cap and petcock gasket and O-rings, new fuel lines, new tail light lens gasket, new bulbs, new grips, levers, handlebar controls, R/R exhaust bracket, and all nuts, bolts, washers, and screws were either cleaned and polished or replaced. Brake cam dust seal was replaced. All remaining painted frame parts were sanded, primed, and painted, all aluminum parts were cleaned and polished. When available NOS parts were used throughout. A perfect base to build on . The engine was removed, completely disassembled ans inspected, cylinders were honed, cylinders, head, and cam box were bead blasted, and crankcase halves were ultrasonically cleaned. ALL engine and casing gaskets, O-rings, and oil seals were replaced. Carburators were disassembled, cleaned, new gaskets, and rebuilt. New plugs, points, condensor, new rocker arms, new piston rings, new piston clips, clips, pin, ans bearings, new camshaft, new cam chain, roller, guide, and tensioner, heads were rebuilt, valves and timing set, new air cleaners, new clutch and all components. Engine was meticulously and professionally reassembled, starts easily, idles perfectly, runs like new. One ride down the road will take you back in time. All engine casing screws are new. Fresh oil change. Tank was sealed, stripped, and professionally re-painted Honda "Panther Gold". One side cover was replaced, both also painted to match with new decals. The side covers and tank top have professionally done, period correct, tasteful scroll work in a slighter darker gold. Paint is perfect and flawless, smooth and with a high gloss. Exhaust is original, Mufflers are near pefect, fenders are shiny and dent free. Chrome is also shiny and clean and rust free. Hubs are clean and shiny. All rubber and plastic is good, no cracks or dry rot. The worst blemish are some minor scratches in the rear fender. All lights work, indicators, Hi-low beams, brake lights, tail light, horn works. This motorcycle is in perfect running order, and looks as good as it runs. This is the nicest SL 350 I have personally seen in years and I have owned several and have been restoring vintage bikes for almost 40 years with hundreds under my belt. Look at the pictures, ask any questions. If you are local stop by and see it before bidding. The reserve is set at what the purchase price was for the bike plus the cost of parts and paint only- NOT A PENNY IN LABOR! You could'nt restore a bike like this for the reserve price. Yes it would be the shining star of any collection, a true museum quality specimen. Pretend it's 1972, buy the new SL 350 you always wanted, travel time, defy the years, have fun! A non refundable $500.00 deposit by PayPal is required within 24 hours of auction's end, and must be paid in full within 5 days, either by Paypal or cash upon pickup. As long as it's paid in full I can store covered indoors for up to 30 days. I will not ship but will make any reasonable effort to assist the shipper of your choice. This is a 45 year old motorcycle, of course there is no warranty expressed or implied, what you see is what you get. If you cannot or will not pay, please do not bid, I will report you to Ebay and you will be banned. Since everyone asks, I am selling to fund a new project, and Yes, it breaks my heart because I know I'll never own another one this nice again.
