1986 Mercedes 560SL I've owned for twelve years. Car has resided in Southern California only. I have a maintenance file that includes the previous owner's repair records for the life of the car, going back to its first servicing in June 1986. Odometer stopped working approx. 22,000 miles ago (documented in maintenance file), odometer reads 165,937. According to Hagerty.com, the 1986 model was the most powerful SL of the decade. Car is in very good running order. Tires in very good condition. Brakes, suspension excellent — steering good. Transmission shifts well and all gears work forward and reverse, but when shifting into drive, the shifting lever misaligns slightly with the notch. Most work needed is cosmetic — paint, front reflector, and some interior. The soft top is ok for use — windows are clear with no cracks, but canvas has several tears and patches. The hardtop is in excellent condition, has been stored properly for the life of the car — proper storage cart is included with sale. A/C does not work — needs repair. Horn does not work. Power windows work, as do the turn signals, wipers, and lights. Separate key for locks and ignition. Car is available for test drive by appointment in Orange County, California.
