Vehicle Detail
Up for Bid is a 1968 C-10 short bed pickup. This truck was a childhood dream of mine after watching Dazed and Confused when I was in JR high. The truck is originally a Texas truck and was purchased south of Dallas. You can tell it lived all of its life in Texas as there was little rust when I tore it apart and started restoring it. The truck as been lowered 5/7 with an early classics drop kit, and the frame has been notched correctly to allow for the new stance. Truck rides nice, and drives true and straight. It as a rebuilt 454 big block matted to a 400 turbo automatic transmission. The motor was built to be a driver with a mild Cam, aluminum GM intake, and a new Edelbrock electric carb, with aluminum headers that run to 3.5 inch exhaust down to dual 400 series flow masters with dumbs, sounds amazing!! The Trans has a slight stall, and shifts smoothly. The truck was converted to 5 lug, and has power brakes with front disc. It has 20 inch Centerline Smoothies wheels and low profile tires with good tread all the way around. A lot of the body has been replaced, new bed sides and tailgate, new fenders, inner fender, core support. All the emblems and side markers have been shaved, and the gas tank was moved to the bed, matted to an Edelbrock electric fuel pump. New cab support rubber, new shocks, new alternator, new starter, battery, and new battery tray. The cab is an A/C cab, however the firewall has been smoothed, the idea was to go with a vintage air system. The firewall, and the inside of the bed, and tailgate have all been lined with bed liner from Southern Polyurethanes Inc. All the paint and primer, etc is from SPI, and it is one of the truest blacks I have ever seen. Very beautiful in the day light. The bed as a mineral Oak, and new metal slates holding them down. The inside has new black carpet, and buddy bucket seats. I do have a dash pad for it, and the climate controls, along with a repop stereo system that has a CD changer and two kick panel speakers, I just haven't gotten around to installing them. The truck has new chrome bumper on front and rear, with the front having integrated fog lights built in. A lot has been done to this truck and there are a few things left to make this truck complete. It gets a lot of attention when I take it out. My place in life has changed and its time to let her go to someone who can finish her up and enjoy her more then I can. I have placed the reserve low, as I am not looking to get rich nor retrieve all my money back. However I am not going to give it away either. Truck also has a new windshield, and all new weather stripping, and back glass rubber. I am sure there are a few things I have missed and will update the posting as they come to me or as questions are asked.
