Vehicle Overview 1991 Mercedes-Benz 250GD SWB 2Door Cabrio This is one of the only 250GDs for sale in the US, and the level of reconditioning is unprecedented. We have turned the rugged 250GD Wolf into a masterpiece. You can't compare the 250GD to the 240GD. Power to the 250GD is provided by a naturally aspirated OM602 2.5 liter inline 5 cylinder diesel which is known for its durability. This is the engine that has gotten recognition for reaching the 1,000,000 mile mark without a rebuild. Unlike the 240GDs, the 250GDs feature power steering, a 5 cylinder engine, and a "five" speed gearbox - as it has a L "crawler" gear. We have no issues cruising this truck at 65MPH without vibration. The Transfer Case and Differential Lockers make this one of the most capable 4X4s on the market. Power flows through the transfer case which is adjustable on the fly - 4x2 High, 4x4 High, 4x4 Low. Crawler gear coupled with 4x4 Low on the transfer case allows this truck to comfortably and safely navigate treacherous and steep terrain. Front and Rear Differentials are lockable independently with pull knobs. Registration is possible in every state including California as the truck is over 25 years and diesel. Being 25, diesel and under 12,000 gross lbs allows exemption from California smog testing. Comes with a clean Pennsylvania title. This 250GD has very low miles, approximately 21K. It has been meticulously serviced by the German military in regular intervals. The truck was driven for approximately 200 miles after restoration and importation. We can say that those miles were a very comfortable and fun driving experience! One thing to note is that even during a hot and sunny day driving with no top on is enjoyable as there is ample air circulating around the cabin. Drivable with the windshield folded down into the bonnet clips for some extra wind in your face! We have first access to units coming out of the military so we get to choose the trucks that we want to work on.
