1996 C3500 DUAL REAR WHEEL 1 TON FLAT BED, WITH A JASPER RE-MANUFACTURED MOTOR AT 138,000 MILES. DUAL GAS TANKS, POWER LOCKS, COLD A/C, GOOD HEAT, FINE IN THE SNOW (EVEN WITHOUT 4WD) The vehicle was purchased by a Racing Pigeon Club and I purchased it from them several years ago. Originally there was a custom built aluminum pigeon cage, watering, containment system. This has all been removed and there is now a huge, very functional flat bed. There are many places for tie down/ratchet straps or containment sides can be made to fit into the holes in the bed. The bed is a massive 8' wide, 12' long and 5" thick on a heavy steel frame with a lumber center. There is also a steel step on the rear to easily access the bed.Someone will be making a lot of money hauling something with this vehicle (tires, scrap, parts delivery, moving/hauling); it can handle the weight. This is an immaculately maintained, superbly useful vehicle. The interior is in great shape. The radio works, a/c and heat work, power locks work, etc. Everything on the vehicle works. Tires have been replaced. In the last 5,000 miles, we replaced the oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, the brakes, tires, several fuel tank emissions parts, exhaust manifold gaskets, exhaust pipe. As stated above, the engine was replaced with a Jasper re-manufactured motor at 138,XXX. We have replaced the oil every 5,000 miles with Mobile One synthetic oil and Mobil One oil filter. All of the fluids have been changed within the past year including; brake fluid, power steering fluid, engine coolant, and transmission fluid. We have also changed the fuel pump (w sending unit) assembly, spark plugs, and basic tune up parts within the last 5,000 miles. The under carriage of the vehicle looks as good as the rest of the vehicle. No rust anywhere. This vehicle has been mostly kept in a garage or under a canopy, and it shows. I would not hesitate driving this vehicle anywhere. It is currently tagged and titled to me but, I am not using it very often.
