Vehicle Detail
An unusual find, this car came out of the dry, Eastern Washington Columbia Basin. It does have some rust issues but they are nothing major. Pictures illustrate rear wheel opening rust and a couple of blemishes where the paint has worn through and surface rust has set in. The car has been re-painted once in original color. The Ranchero spent its early life doing farm chores in Othello WA before being brought to Pullman where it has remained in the same family ever since. The car runs and drives fairly well and was used for daily transportation until this April. It does have valve cover and front seal oil leaks and went through a quart every month when driven regularly. Cosmetically, it presents well from twenty feet. The interior needs help. The seat cushions are worn down and the sun visors and headliner both need replacement. For someone needing a cherry, this is not it. But then for a car that low books at ten grand, the price reflects the car's condition. For someone who wanted a rock stock original Ranchero, this is a true find. It is stock right down to the wheel covers and original radio delete (the heater, by the way, does work!). I've driven it on the highway at sixty/sixty-five and it scoots right along. The front end seems reasonably tight and the fairly new tires show no sign of unusual road wear. The bed is rust free, the bed stainless is excellent. The brakes stop without pulling to one side or the other. The glass is all good. A great candidate to drive while restoring. The car is being sold with NO RESERVE. NOTE:Floor pans have been replaced professionally.
