Vehicle Detail
This is a solid Texas Volkswagen! It has been very well taken care of over the years and it shows. Many years ago, it had a "windows out, chrome off" re-spray done in yellow. At that time, it was also given the shaved chrome look, smooth running boards, and 2.5 inch dropped spindles in front. Everywhere you look, you can see where somebody cared about this car! Some of the parts that have been replaced/rebuilt over the years: Pedal assembly, windshield wiper motor, fuse box and wiring harness, window seals, windshield, door cards, carpet, headliner, seat covers, and a 15 gallon gas tank. All the doors, hood, and deck lid all operate as they should. The car does not appear to have ever been hit, the front and rear aprons are not all torn up.Engine had a quality rebuild by a professional shop about 4k miles (several years ago). It is a 1600 s.p.Everything on the top of the engine has just been replaced in the last month due to theft! This includes NEW alternator and pulley, 009 distributor, coil, fuel pump, plug wires, distributor cap.A used fan shroud and rebuilt carburetor have the car running strong for a bug!It has a nice performance exhaust system too. The transaxle is a 4 speed and shifts very well, the clutch grabs crisply, and the axle boots appear to be pretty recent. The brake system has been gone through and work really well for an old car. There are recent soft brake lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder etc.Having said all this, the car is nearly 50 years old, expect that it will need more work than a new Toyota! it is not perfect, but it is a fun weekend type car, or a daily driver, NOT a show car. When you bid, you are bidding to own the car. You are not bidding to get a chance to come see it and decide if you want it or not. Therefore, a non refundable $500 deposit is required. You are welcome to ask questions that I have not already answered in the ad, you are also welcome to come see the car if you wish, I will do my best to accommodate you in either case . Texas title in hand.
