Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1994 Jaguar XJS Coupe. I am the third owner of this car and have had it since 2003. I used it as a daily driver for about 5 years. It has been in storage for about 8 years. It is not in running condition at this time as it needs the entire engine compartment wiring re-done. I have all the wire currently roughed in (18 ga. TXL/GXL which is much better than the factory harness). I have most of the parts to get it running again including two new fuel pumps, fuel line from the tank and cleaned fuel injectors. The following is list of assorted other things to consider in no particular order: Has a very low mileage complete stainless steel exhaust system from The Driven Man. This is a great exhaust with an amazing sound. This piece alone is worth the cost of the opening bid.The Borbet wheels shown on the car in the pics do NOT come with the car. I am selling them separate. The car comes with the factory wheels, one of which is shown in the pictures. They are all in about the same condition.Transmission was replaced with a used one about 7500 miles (but about 9 years) ago. The trans has roughly 40,000 miles on it.I have the factory service manual which include the wiring diagrams. I also have the original harness which, although in bad condition, can be used for a guide as there are inline resistors and other goofy things what would need to be put in.I am missing the air injection tubes. These are available used from Coventry West and others.Although I drained the fuel tank when it was parked, it does need to be cleaned. The interior is in pretty nice condition; wear on the driver seat is better than most of this age but does show some use. Headliner (of course) needs to be replaced. Both the headlight washers need to be replaced. I had to replace the rear glass a couple years before it was parked. This is a very rare piece of glass and cost me (well my insurance company) $900. As noted earlier the car has been parked for about 8 years but I did turn the engine over by hand about six months ago. It is not seized and ran well when it was parked. If you want to tackle this as a restoration project, it is not for the feint of heart but if you know these cars, it is definitely manageable for not a lot of money. I love this car and I hate to sell it but am moving out of the country in two months and can't take it with me. I would really like to see it go to a good home and either be restored to its former beauty or at least save another car. If you have a 93-95 6.0 XJS already, the exhaust and rear glass alone are worth the investment. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions. Car is sold as-is and buyer is responsible for pickup and associated costs. Available for inspection in Fairfield County Connecticut by appointment. Thanks for bidding!
