This car has the Yamaha 3.2 automatic set up, which are known for durability as you see many of these cars with 150,000+ miles and still on the road. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The first owner passed away and 2nd owner acquired it from his estate and drove it for a few years. I acquired it earlier this summer. It has been well kept and not abused. It is 100% stock. I bought the car with the idea of possibly keeping it for my teenage daughter but decided against it because I just have too many cars and need to clear out my driveway. I think this could be classified as a “survivor” – it is very well preserved but it does have a little over 44,000 miles, so it has been driven. Therefore it has some minor flaws as described below. Exterior: The paint still shines well. There is no rust, and no bondo anywhere on the body. It must have had a front plate at one point, which resulted in a rubbed area on the front center of the bumper that has been touched up. There are a couple small chips in the black plastic piece above the wipers. The rubber around the rear window is sort of rough and not smooth like it was when new. Apparently the right rear quarter panel was repainted at one point because there is a small area of clear coat peel on the very top of the panel, near the trunk lid. To my knowledge the paint is all original except for the right rear quarter. The headlights also have some typical haze. The original Italian-designed “slicer” wheels are in good shape with some minor wear on some of the paint. There are almost no door dings to speak of…no dents anywhere. A few minor chips here and there. The underbody is solid with surface scale here and there...no major or heavy rust. All of these flaws must be viewed up close to see them. I am pointing these things out in the interest of full disclosure, because pictures don’t always show flaws very well. However the car is in very nice shape overall and gets a lot of attention. My intent is to highlight the negative so there are no misconceptions about the car itself, but I suppose I'm saying this at the risk of making the car sound worse than it really is. Interior: The interior is in great shape, and smells like a new car. Never smoked in. No offensive odors of any kind. The seats are very supportive and comfortable. There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere in the upholstery. Same with the carpets, headliner, and sun visors. The dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc. There is a small area of wear on the drivers side left bolster from entry/exit, but no holes. The seats still hold air for the bolsters and lumbar. The power antenna does not work, so it stays in the upward position. The original JBL radio still works but the factory speakers cannot handle 100% bass setting at louder volumes due to their age. The A/C blew cold until 2 weeks ago. I believe the refrigerant is still charged but it appears the compressor is shot. The climate control buttons have the typical cracks in the buttons. And the felt on the underside of the power sunroof shade has some flaking, as is also typical with these cars. The power seats, locks, windows, mirrors, sunroof, cruise control, intermittent wipers, rear defrost, etc., all work great. However the driver side control button for the front passenger window will not go up….so you have to reach over to use the passenger side control button to put the window up. Lastly, the air bag light used to flash and drive me nuts, so my mechanic checked it out and gave up attempting to diagnose the issue….so I asked him to remove the bulb….and since then, there is a repeating beep for about 30 seconds after starting the engine. This is coming from a warning speaker under the dash near the glove box….if the beep drives the next person nuts they could probably remove the speaker. It is much less annoying than the former flashing light, so I let it go at that. Lastly, there is a small area on the driver side door panel pocket where apparently a pen leaked, so probably with some good solvent this could be cleaned off. It is limited to the area where there is hard plastic at the bottom of the pocket. Overall the interior is in great condition otherwise. Mechanical: The Yamaha “snake pit” 3.2 is very powerful for 1993. Not bad on gas either. It runs very smooth and there are no “check engine” or other warning lights on (see description above re: airbag though). I recently installed a new thermostat, but it will need a few things to pass PA inspection: A/C Compressor Y Pipe Rear muffler on drivers side Rear brakes and tires (worn) The car does not leak any fluids anywhere. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are smooth. This baby runs at highway speeds smoothly and is ready for the local cruise-in to show and drive! Overall: If you are looking for a nice example of an original “unmolested” SHO at an affordable price, then this one’s for you. The car is great to drive and sharp to look at. It is in nice shape but it is not flawless. There’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored. As such, this car was never restored and has 44,450 miles and has some trivial flaws described above. Overall, it’s in very good condition, and with the few minor corrections needed above, it will make an awesome SHO for the next owner. I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid. It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you. 1993 Ford Taurus SHO / 2 owners / 44k orig miles documented on title
You are viewing a very nice example of a 93 Taurus SHO, with only 44,450 original miles (and is documented on the title as such). This car has the Yamaha 3.2 automatic set up, which are known for durability as you see many of these cars with 150,000+ miles and still on the road. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The first owner passed away and 2nd owner acquired it from his estate and drove it for a few years. I acquired it earlier this summer. It has been well kept and not abused. It is 100% stock. I bought the car with the idea of possibly keeping it for my teenage daughter but decided against it because I just have too many cars and need to clear out my driveway. I think this could be classified as a “survivor” – it is very well preserved but it does have a little over 44,000 miles, so it has been driven. Therefore it has some minor flaws as described below.
Exterior: The paint still shines well. There is no rust, and no bondo anywhere on the body. It must have had a front plate at one point, which resulted in a rubbed area on the front center of the bumper that has been touched up. There are a couple small chips in the black plastic piece above the wipers. The rubber around the rear window is sort of rough and not smooth like it was when new. Apparently the right rear quarter panel was repainted at one point because there is a small area of clear coat peel on the very top of the panel, near the trunk lid. To my knowledge the paint is all original except for the right rear quarter. The headlights also have some typical haze. The original Italian-designed “slicer” wheels are in good shape with some minor wear on some of the paint. There are almost no door dings to speak of…no dents anywhere. A few minor chips here and there. The underbody is solid with surface scale here and there...no major or heavy rust. All of these flaws must be viewed up close to see them. I am pointing these things out in the interest of full disclosure, because pictures don’t always show flaws very well. However the car is in very nice shape overall and gets a lot of attention. My intent is to highlight the negative so there are no misconceptions about the car itself, but I suppose I'm saying this at the risk of making the car sound worse than it really is.
Interior: The interior is in great shape, and smells like a new car. Never smoked in. No offensive odors of any kind. The seats are very supportive and comfortable. There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere in the upholstery. Same with the carpets, headliner, and sun visors. The dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc. There is a small area of wear on the drivers side left bolster from entry/exit, but no holes. The seats still hold air for the bolsters and lumbar. The power antenna does not work, so it stays in the upward position. The original JBL radio still works but the factory speakers cannot handle 100% bass setting at louder volumes due to their age. The A/C blew cold until 2 weeks ago. I believe the refrigerant is still charged but it appears the compressor is shot. The climate control buttons have the typical cracks in the buttons. And the felt on the underside of the power sunroof shade has some flaking, as is also typical with these cars. The power seats, locks, windows, mirrors, sunroof, cruise control, intermittent wipers, rear defrost, etc., all work great. However the driver side control button for the front passenger window will not go up….so you have to reach over to use the passenger side control button to put the window up. Lastly, the air bag light used to flash and drive me nuts, so my mechanic checked it out and gave up attempting to diagnose the issue….so I asked him to remove the bulb….and since then, there is a repeating beep for about 30 seconds after starting the engine. This is coming from a warning speaker under the dash near the glove box….if the beep drives the next person nuts they could probably remove the speaker. It is much less annoying than the former flashing light, so I let it go at that. Lastly, there is a small area on the driver side door panel pocket where apparently a pen leaked, so probably with some good solvent this could be cleaned off. It is limited to the area where there is hard plastic at the bottom of the pocket. Overall the interior is in great condition otherwise.
Mechanical: The Yamaha “snake pit” 3.2 is very powerful for 1993. Not bad on gas either. It runs very smooth and there are no “check engine” or other warning lights on (see description above re: airbag though). I recently installed a new thermostat, but it will need a few things to pass PA inspection:

The car does not leak any fluids anywhere. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are smooth. This baby runs at highway speeds smoothly and is ready for the local cruise-in to show and drive!
Overall: If you are looking for a nice example of an original “unmolested” SHO at an affordable price, then this one’s for you. The car is great to drive and sharp to look at. It is in nice shape but it is not flawless. There’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored. As such, this car was never restored and has 44,450 miles and has some trivial flaws described above. Overall, it’s in very good condition, and with the few minor corrections needed above, it will make an awesome SHO for the next owner.
