Vehicle Detail

1969 Pontiac GTO convertible. Black with Black interior. 400 engine 4 barrel, with rare bench seat automatic shift on the column. I purchased this car from an older gentleman who had it parked under a carport garage with a cement floor. I am not a Pontiac guy, but this car caught my eye when I saw the nose peaking out from under a ton of car covers. This car is an old school, classic street rod. It reminded me of the cars that were cruising my town looking for a race back in the day. It is an older 80s restoration car that has surprising well. Here is what I can tell you about this car. I purchased it from this guy last winter and basically cleaned it, put the interior back in it since he was storing that in his house. What a good thing too, it saved it from mice and keeping floors dry. The front bench seat looks like it is brand new. The back seat is so-so, but looks decent. It also needed a new gas tank, which luckily he had too so I installed that. Otherwise, I added a new battery and gas to it and started it up. The car starts up and runs a little rough. Maybe a tune up or a carburator rebuild, I don't know. It went into gear and moves, but the brakes may need to be gone over because they feel like they are sticking from years of sitting. The car has a beautiful solid frame. The driver's floor and the rear floor were patched with floor pans nicely welded in and are holding up great. The quarters and fenders have a few dings, but look solid and feel sturdy. The trunk pan has some holes, probably should be replaced. Doors are decent and the hood looks good. Like I said, old school restoration that was done very nicely by somebody back in the day. Interior is the correct black interior and is in beautiful shape. The front door panels are nice and the back ones are holding up but I would replace them. The dash is very good as well as the steering wheel. The car is a column shift car. The engine I was told is not the correct 400 engine, but I was told that the car was driven quite a bit during the late 80s into early 90s before it was parked and ran great. There is no grease and appears to be well taken care of, still has blue paint on it! The brakes were all done before parked and they do work and stop the car. It didn't take much to start the car and it sounded real beefy. I ran it for a little while but it is a gas eater and ran out of gas. It will fire right back up though. I have started it periodically over the past few months always starts up. Lights and electrical are in tact but will need a going over. The wipers don't work for some reason and one tail light is out. The convertible top motor was taken out of the car as the owner planned on replacing it. I have it in the box to be installed but the car needs a new top. This car will be a great street cruiser with some going over. I don't have garage space to keep this car or the room in my driveway. Like I said, I am not a Pontiac guy so it will make you Pontiac lovers excited. I do see a lot of potential and I hope it goes to someone who really likes these cars. I am happy to answer questions about the car. I am not putting a reserve. So happy bidding. On Aug-27-16 at 09:01:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I want add a couple details so we are all clear. A lot of people are asking me how it can be so inexpensive. I think I should clarify the title says 32,000, but the odometer is not correct in the car. It is reading like 9999999, which we know can't be true. I am sure it has over 32,000 on the car's body, but the engine I think has around 70-80,000. It is much too clean looking to not be that way. Also, I am getting a lot of cash offers, please bid if you are truly interested and contact me with any questions. I hope you see I explained the car correctly and that it is an old restoration and has been sitting for a long time so you are not getting in it and it away. It will start up, go in gear and stop, but not well. Like I said previously, it needs to be gone over thoroughly. It is priced like a better than average project car, don't expect perfect because it is not, but for its age and for sitting as long as it has, it will make a really good driver when you take the time to go over brakes, timing, electrical. I hope you find this helpful and I have answered any questions you may have. You see what these cars go for and I am pricing what I consider fairly. There is no reserve so, I am asking what I am asking because I know you will need to put a few dollars in it to get it back on the road. So again, please don't throw numbers at me and think I am going to take your offer. I am getting many and if you are serious please call and then bid because I expect you are going to follow through with your offer. Thank you
