Got this 81 Corvette out of an elderly man's estate. He had this one and a 77 and both of them had not been registered since 2005. He had them in his two car garage where I found them. This 81 he told me was rebuilt by a local known good garage that has been in business for many many years. He didn't use it much after that and parked them both in the garage. Engine is clean other than dusty from sitting all these years, but you can tell it was rebuilt compared to the other Corvette. Starts right up and has a brand new battery and master cylinder. Engine will crank right up, no smoke or knocks. Brakes need some work, I may get them going, but no guarantees on that. They need bleeding for sure though. Body is in great condition, but faded some. Definitely needs new carpet and T tops are there, but they have a crack in them. Mileage is I think a little less than 49,000 showing on odometer. On Jun-30-16 at 16:12:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add that the AC does blow cold air. The radiator looks new like they must have put a new one in when they did the engine rebuild. Once warmed up you can come out to this car and just hit the key and it starts right up and idles great. The electric windows work on both sides. The driver's side electric seat does not work. On Jul-03-16 at 15:08:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I did bleed all the brakes after putting the new master cylinder on and I was able to drive the car down the street. Transmission worked well and shifted all three gears. Engine runs great with no issues and it has all the original brackets, wiring and hoses. The car is old enough that if I were to keep it I would pull all the smog crap off of it. If a person wants to keep it original well all the stuff in on it already. The rebuild job was a clean and neat install done by a professional shop many years back. Pulls a little so I'm pretty sure it will need some front caliper work and or hoses. Brakes will hold the car so it can be loaded easier since they work now. Good luck and Thanks for bidding
