Vehicle Detail
Up for auction to the highest bidder is this great looking and driving 1954 Chevy Sedan Delivery Station Wagon. The car spent most of it's life in Oregon and ended up here in Sarasota FL. It has been owned for years by the same owner who was a friend of mine. He hated selling it but needed to raise the money as a couple of his family members were in a severe car accident and were in the midst of a family crisis. He drove the car here from his home in Pennsylvania and has been on numerous road trips with the car. The car is reliable, runs cool and runs like a top. It's is geared for relaxed cruising. It's fast off the line but it has long legs on the highway which is not too common in a classic car of this vintage. The engine is a 350 cubic inch engine that was new about 15 years ago. only about 12k miles since. It runs super with tons of power and is coupled with a performance TH350 and a 12 bolt posi rear axle. I would guess the gear ratios to be low 3:xx's Don't know the exact ratio. The front brakes were upgraded from drum to disc brakes and the car stops quickly and in a straight line. It looks great with a great paint job and a solid body. The glass is good except for a crack in the passenger small vent window. No need to be replaced to use. It's been like this for years. The wheels are the turbo thrust style chrome with spinners that are like new. Has true dual exhaust. Suspension is good. I had the car checked out by a local classic car shop who reported that all is working as it should except for the fuel gauge and the speedometer is spinning but jumping and needs a speedometer head replaced. The interior has leather seats and the driver's seat flips forward so he may have access to the rear cargo area from the drivers door opening. The carpeting is nice. The interior restoration was done over 20 years ago but still looks nice. The dash is panted to match the interior and has custom pin striping. The stereo works very well as the previous owner is a professional musician who needed to have great sounding music. I bought this from my friend when he needed a hand for a good price. I was going to keep it and let him buy it back after a while but it looks like he won't be able to for years to come and I need to sell it because I need to spend some on the house. I am hoping the car bring a fair price. I have it listed on local sites and won't end the auction unless someone buys it before it gets too close to the end of the auction.
