Vehicle Detail

This Audi TT, offered for sale by an Audi enthusiast, is THE perfect TT if you are in the market for a classic German sports car. Lovingly maintained and adult driven, this car is in exceptional, showroom condition and needs nothing but a new home. In Nimbus Grey Pearl paint with the optional baseball glove leather interior and black canvas top, this is a perfect example that mirrors the TTS Roadster concept car released in 1995 that took the world by storm with its revolutionary design. Hailed by many as one of the great automotive designs of all time, the TT was penned primarily by J Mays and Freeman Thomas, two of the car design world's heaviest hitters of the last few decades. This example is loaded with every available option except navigation, which would be completely outdated and ugly in a 15-year-old car anyway. Options include:-225 hp engine with quattro all-wheel-drive and 6-speed manual transmission-Premium Package-17-inch polished 5-spoke forged aluminum wheels-Self-leveling Xenon HID headlights-Heated seats-Audio Package-Bose premium sound system-6-disc CD changer-Baseball optic leather-Power folding topThe 225 hp 1.8T is the sweet spot of the TT range. The 180 hp model is fun, but a little underpowered to really be a sports car, and the later-model 3.2 V6 engine, only available with an automatic transmission, was so much heavier that the extra power barely offset the excess weight, and the driving experience suffered. The 225 hp engine with quattro AWD and a manual transmission makes this a true sports car that handles wonderfully and is a very involving driver's car. The 225 hp engine was not just a re-tune of the 180 hp engine; instead, it employs completely different pistons, camshafts, turbocharger, intercoolers, and intake system to honestly create more horsepower from the engine, not just from cranking the boost pressure higher. Don't believe the magazines or naysayers who suggest the TT can't really keep pace in the sports car world. Driven correctly, this car is absolutely as fast as any sane person would ever need it to be, and the secure handling provided by quattro will allow you to probe the limits in comfort and safety. The interior of this car is in stunning condition, highlighted by the beautiful baseball glove leather seats, which were a bold design risk that paid off big time and still look amazing today. The car feels handcrafted; everything that looks like machined aluminum IS machined aluminum, not cheap silver plastic. I am a fanatic about cleanliness and and taking good care of things, so the interior has been meticulously cleaned and looks fantastic, bordering on unbelievable for a 15-year-old car. The interior design is exceptional, and informed the design language of future Audis for more than a decade. Look inside a late-model A3 and you'll see many of the same styling cues as this original TT.Mileage is low at just over 104,000. Always garaged with the top up, the exterior is in great condition with no appreciable flaws other than a couple nicks and paint imperfections that are too small to see unless you're really close. This car has no body rust, and no corrosion of the suspension or exhaust. The photos speak for themselves. Nothing is stolen from a brochure or photoshopped; these are honest, unedited photos of this car. It really does look that good. All maintenance is up to date, including the complete timing belt service and Haldex coupling service, which were done less than 6 months ago. Both are critical to avoid costly engine or driveline failures. All the typical electrical issues that affect these cars have also been corrected. The instrument cluster has been professionally rebuilt using modern parts and soldering techniques to eliminate dead pixels and flickering gauges. The car has recently undergone a complete end-to-end workover to address every repair and maintenance item it needed, at a cost of close to $3000. All receipts for that work are included. 100% complete with all manuals, tools, and accessories as delivered from the factory, including a leather storage bag for the included tonneau cover.I hate to sell this car as I feel it will almost certainly appreciate in value and become a collectible. Even though I can picture myself watching this car cross an auction block somewhere 20 years from now for some ungodly amount of money, I just don't have enough room in my garage to keep it, so alas, it must go. It's been a fun car to own, drive, and work on, and now it's time for it to move on to a good new home. Many more photos available here: https://picasaweb.google.com/100198916487231121647/6298865291165654401Please email with any questions or to schedule a test drive. Easy access off I-80 or I-99, clear title in hand, friendly, experienced seller. I am here to make your purchase quick and easy so you can be on your way and enjoy this great car!
