Vehicle Detail

Selling with NO RESERVE! HISTORY:Single Owner (shows 2 in history report because my parents cosigned when purchased and it was originally title in their name), Clear Title, Non Smoker, Car purchased from VW dealership in Dallas, TX. Owner's Manual, battery extender power grid, 2 keys, valet key and 4 digit stereo code all come with car. Current cd/radio is from another Jetta-code available. Original radio/cd player will also come with car, although it isn't working-but code is available. FEATURES:2003 Mid Year Model- cup holders between front seats, instead of in dash over radio! Working Moon Roof. Trunk with interior latch release. Radio has AM/FM, Single Disc CD player, and Cassette Deck- we have a cassette/aux adapter for iPod/iPhone. CONDITION:We will offer an honest, detailed list of what we know to be the current condition of the car, but cannot account for everything as we are not mechanics or car savvy. Seller not responsible for anything after purchase. Car is fully insured and will remain so until title is transferred. Please ask questions, we'll be happy to answer as best we can! Brand NEW battery this week and currently half a tank of gas! Upon purchase we will have the oil changed (high mileage-synthetic oil), fluids (including gas) topped off, make sure rear and head lamps are working, and have the car detailed! Engine type listed above was autofilled from Ebay and seems to be correct. AS FAR AS WE KNOW transmission, alternator and starter are all working fine! None have ever been replaced. The car has roughly 206,700 miles and timing belt was replaced at about 185,000 miles. Catalytic Converter replaced about the same time. Car is not current on registration or inspection as we have not used it on a regular basis for a while and the check engine light goes on and off from time to time. In the past this has always indicated some electrical switch(?) that needed to be replaced. You may already know that this year Jetta falls within the frame of several years that are known to have electrical glitches. We believe the fuse for the air conditioning/heater needs to be replaced as both were working fine one day and the next day even the lights would not illuminate when turning the switch on. There was no indication of over heating or not cooling and the next day neither the fans blew nor the panel illuminated when turning on the ac/heat switch. (Just wanted to reiterate why we think it's the fuse- also researched it and sounds like exactly the issue, but we are not/cannot be certain.) There is body damage to the front bumper and right fender from hitting a side pole while backing out of our drive. Very low speed accident with no internal damage. A few bumps and bruises on the back end from being hit in a parking lot. The right front tire photographed is the spare which is barely worn. Got a flat about a month ago. Wheel is undamaged and flat tire is in the spare compartment under the trunk floor board. 2 rear tires most recently replaced have about 60-75% tire life left and left front tire about 40-50% tire life left. The interior has normal wear from a 13 yr old car with some stains and the head liner is dragging in certain parts. The front seat has a small tear in a seam. Some peeling spots on shifter and near drivers AC output-seen in photos. Driver's sun visor broken from hinge (visor available). Trunk latch broke (another common issue for the cheap part) and we purchased the Jetta Trunk Fix from jettatrunk.com. It works, but looks like the motor is slowing down and not pushing the lever with enough power to pop it. Another thing with this year model is the emergency latch release added in the trunk. In order to reattach the release latch, get the liner back on, and the lever to pull and release, you'll need a tool to feed it through on the underside. The photo shows the trunk liner attached, but it is currently not attached so the release can be pulled inside and trunk popped. All screws and liner are just inside the trunk. The shocks that keep the hood up are shot and not engaging so it must be held open by someone or a bar. The shocks are also slow on the trunk so it has to be pushed open and really pushed down closed.
