I purchased it from the original owner who drove it mostly between Florida and Pennsylvania. It has been garage kept and stored away in the winters. Most cars from this region are scaly underneath….but NOT this one…scale is very minimal and evident it was not driven in salt. It has 37,715 ORIGINAL miles and has been pampered since new. Everything about the car, right down to the stitching in the leather seats, is in beautiful shape. I have the original window sticker, bill of sale, and various service records. This beautiful car has almost every feature available in 1997. In addition to being the Signature Series, it has quite a number of features, such as, traction control, memory seats, original aluminum laced wheels, automatic dimming mirrors, heated outside mirrors, AM/FM stereo w/ cassette player and optional JBL speakers, lumbar seats, power pull down trunk lid, automatic headlights, thick-padded leather interior (and super soft), and cloth cabriolet top. New, this car had a $43,605 sticker price! Overall the car is immaculate. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and one of the last years of the traditional Town Cars…with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 4.6 liter engine. The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly. Exterior: The original paint is called Vibrant White. It is brilliant and gorgeous and does not appear to have been resprayed anywhere. The factory top matches the interior, sort of like a khaki color. The paint reflects the fact it was garage kept. The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly. The original cloth top is also like brand new and has no stains, rips, tears or fading. The wheels are in excellent shape and have no marks to speak of. No road rash, pitting or oxidation. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous and is obvious of the care it has received. The underbody is in great shape. There is a small touch up on the driver side front bumper to cover up where the corner was rubbed at one point….difficult to see though…and a few other trivial nicks that are very minimal. Any flaws must be viewed up close to see them. Interior: The Prairie Tan interior is stunning, including the most comfortable seats I ever had – very soft, rich, and thickly padded khaki leather, which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car! The leather is soft and supple. It was obviously NEVER smoked in. Cigarette lighters were never used. There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere. Same with the carpets, headliner, and sun visors. The 2-tone dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc. The stitching in the seats, right down to the Lincoln insignia embroidery, is like brand new. The power equipment goodies all work, and the A/C still blows cold. Mechanical: The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth. As mentioned earlier, the motor is the 4.6 V-8 engine which is both economical and reliable. The car was serviced regularly and pampered. I have some documents to show the maintenance that’s been done over the years. The car does not leak any fluids anywhere. The tires are still in good shape and have plenty of tread. The spare tire is a full size, which is preferable to a donut tire. I believe the shocks are still the original ones, including the self-leveling rear suspension, which still works great and does NOT leak air. The car passed the rigorous PA safety & emissions inspection this Spring and is valid through April 2017. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are silk smooth. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show and drive! Overall: If you are looking for a spectacular example of the last of the traditional full size Lincoln, this one’s for you. The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments. I have yet to see another Town Car just like it. This car is so nice, that most people selling on eBay might say the car is “perfect” or “flawless”. The average person may describe it as such-- but for a car collector, there’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored. As such, this car was never restored and has 37,715 miles and may have some trivial flaws. I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid. I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country. It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you. You are viewing a gorgeous 1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series with factory cloth top. I purchased it from the original owner who drove it mostly between Florida and Pennsylvania. It has been garage kept and stored away in the winters. Most cars from this region are scaly underneath….but NOT this one…scale is very minimal and evident it was not driven in salt. It has 37,715 ORIGINAL miles and has been pampered since new. Everything about the car, right down to the stitching in the leather seats, is in beautiful shape. I have the original window sticker, bill of sale, and various service records. This beautiful car has almost every feature available in 1997. In addition to being the Signature Series, it has quite a number of features, such as, traction control, memory seats, original aluminum laced wheels, automatic dimming mirrors, heated outside mirrors, AM/FM stereo w/ cassette player and optional JBL speakers, lumbar seats, power pull down trunk lid, automatic headlights, thick-padded leather interior (and super soft), and cloth cabriolet top. New, this car had a $43,605 sticker price! Overall the car is immaculate. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and one of the last years of the traditional Town Cars…with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 4.6 liter engine. The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly.
Exterior:
The original paint is called Vibrant White. It is brilliant and gorgeous and does not appear to have been resprayed anywhere. The factory top matches the interior, sort of like a khaki color. The paint reflects the fact it was garage kept. The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly. The original cloth top is also like brand new and has no stains, rips, tears or fading. The wheels are in excellent shape and have no marks to speak of. No road rash, pitting or oxidation. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous and is obvious of the care it has received. The underbody is in great shape. There is a small touch up on the driver side front bumper to cover up where the corner was rubbed at one point….difficult to see though…and a few other trivial nicks that are very minimal. Any flaws must be viewed up close to see them.
Interior:
The Prairie Tan interior is stunning, including the most comfortable seats I ever had – very soft, rich, and thickly padded khaki leather, which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car! The leather is soft and supple. It was obviously NEVER smoked in. Cigarette lighters were never used. There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere. Same with the carpets, headliner, and sun visors. The 2-tone dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc. The stitching in the seats, right down to the Lincoln insignia embroidery, is like brand new. The power equipment goodies all work, and the A/C still blows cold.
Mechanical:
The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth. As mentioned earlier, the motor is the 4.6 V-8 engine which is both economical and reliable. The car was serviced regularly and pampered. I have some documents to show the maintenance that’s been done over the years. The car does not leak any fluids anywhere. The tires are still in good shape and have plenty of tread. The spare tire is a full size, which is preferable to a donut tire. I believe the shocks are still the original ones, including the self-leveling rear suspension, which still works great and does NOT leak air. The car passed the rigorous PA safety & emissions inspection this Spring and is valid through April 2017. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are silk smooth. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show and drive!
Overall:
If you are looking for a spectacular example of the last of the traditional full size Lincoln, this one’s for you. The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments. I have yet to see another Town Car just like it. This car is so nice, that most people selling on eBay might say the car is “perfect” or “flawless”. The average person may describe it as such-- but for a car collector, there’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored. As such, this car was never restored and has 37,715 miles and may have some trivial flaws. I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid. I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country. It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you.
