Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a numbers matching St. Louis built 1970 Dodge Charger 500. It has the original 383 CID big block and 727 automatic transmission with center console. I have a clear title, the build sheet, fender tag, and options breakdown on the car. The Charger has EF8 dark green metallic paint, a green vinyl top, and green interior with buckets. I verified it still has the numbers matching 383 engine and 727 trans. This car also came from the factory with an R4369 Holley 4 barrel carb, air conditioning (rare), power steering, power brakes, 26" radiator, 8.75 with 3.23 ratio open diff, 14 x 6 magnum 500 road wheels, and dual exhaust. This is an original southern car and is very solid. Rust appears to be minimized to a baseball size hole in the drivers floor pan and the back window channel area, which likely caused the trunk to get wet and rust as well. As I understand the history of the car, it was in an accident in the very early 80s and has been parked since that time. From what I can tell the owner ran into something with the drivers side wheel. This damaged the bumper, valance, driver fender, as well as put a big dent (pictured) in the quarter panel. The leading edge of the pass fender and door, as well as, the corner of the hood were also tweeked. They will need some TLC to get back in shape. I replaced the front bumper and driver fender with parts I had and it made the car look a thousand times better. With the sale of the car I will also include a, hard to find, 70 charger grill and a front valance. The grill has a couple small spots which will require attention to be perfect. The valance is in very nice shape. Further, I was in the process of building a new suspension for the car. It has a K member that was coated with POR 15 and painted. The parts include new moog suspension peices, disc brake spindles and rotors. This will be included with the car. (However, the K member stand will not go with it). The original R4369 carb was missing when I bought the car, so. I purchased a carb online only to find it was an R4368 and was mislabeled in the ad. This will go with the car along with a new gas tank, sending unit and trunk mat I bought for it. I purchased the car about 15 years ago because it was solid and complete. I had the intentions of giving it a full restoration. It was kept covered in my attached 3 car garage for years, but had to be moved to my side driveway under a tarp in favor of a convertible stroker project I am working on. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to work on both cars and have decided to offer the Charger up to a good home. Buyer is responsible for paying a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48hrs of the auction ending by PayPal and the remainder within 10 days. This car is for local pick up only. However, if the winner bidder wishes to set up their own shipping, that will be fine. The car is located just outside St. Louis in Wentzville, Missouri (zip 63385). I have done my best to accurately describe the car and want the buyer to have a full understanding of what they are purchasing. This car will require work, however, I think for what it is, it is still very exciting. If you are interested in purchasing the car and have questions please let me know. I will review the post daily and try to answer questions as quickly as I can. I can also be reached at (six, three, six) 515-0553. Good luck and happy bidding.
