Vehicle Detail
This bike was systematically stripped down to the bare frame. Includes 70s era faring, saddle bags (one saddle bag without lid), highway bar (after-market white), and maintenance manual. All grease, grime and rust removed from all parts. Chrome parts lightly polished. Rear swing arm and center stand repainted, and moving parts received new grease.Wheels cleaned and bearings checked for smoothness.New rear tire and tube installed. Front will need to be replaced before serious riding.Steering head bearings cleaned and checked, then reassembled with new grease.Front forks drained, flushed with ATF, and filled with recommended fluid.New battery installed and battery box repainted.New right control switch purchased from Z1 parts (old switch was missing starter button). All cables cleaned and lubed with cable lube.Carburetors, front brake and master cylinder completely rebuilt by Honda mechanic.Side covers had cracks and ears missing. Repaired with epoxy, fiberglass mat, resin and super glue.New side cover grommets purchased from Z1 parts (old ones were hard).Gas tank cleaned of old fuel and some light rust removed.Fuel filter and petcock cleaned.Rubber hoses flushed with brake cleaner.Air cleaner checked and found to be good.Points check and found to be good (gapped per specs).New plugs installed.Engine given good outside cleaning.Bottom pan was dropped to check oil pump screen. Inside of engine was VERY clean, and oil screen had nothing on it.Each cylinder filled with ATF and soaked 5 days. Then cleaned with brake cleaner. While cylinders were soaking, the upper end, overhead cam, valve springs and timing chain were oiled daily.New oil and filter added for first startup.First startup was smooth. It is a cold-blooded starter (normal for a carbureted bike). After warm-up and short trip, oil and filter were changed. Nothing that would indicate a problem was found in oil at that time.Front brake master cylinder rebuilt. Caliber Service.Currently has Oklahoma Black tag.Small dents in fender and tank.Purchaser assumes responsibility for shipping arrangements and cost (if needed).
