Vehicle Detail
My husband bought this several years ago to restore since he is medically retired from the U.S. Army. He has put thousands into new chrome and interior parts. Last year his injuries became too much for him to handle the rest. Had the car checked by our local mechanic and he said that the engine runs strong and the transmission shifts as it should. It is driveable right now, the brakes need to be bled. It has a bad shimmy, and the mechanic said it was the torque converter. The car is automatic but the clutch pedal is already installed for an easy swap to a manual. The headliner needs to be replaced (if you look closely at the pictures the chrome is not on, but will send the new window chrome with the car. The car is a solid car and head turner, drop a V8 and a standard transmission in it (like my husband wanted) and you have an inexpensive and great looking Mustang. The paint is better than good shape, but would have someone wet sand it and shoot another clear coat. I believe that's about everything, wanted to make sure you knew what you're buying. Also, not sure of exact mileage. On Apr-23-16 at 01:18:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Get a little closer to Reserve and it will come off. Husband is giving me this chance to sell the car.On Apr-24-16 at 00:50:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve is off. Highest bidder takes it. You put a few thousand and double your money. All it needs is a big block and manual transmission. We are moving and someone is going to get a great car with a little TLC. Reserves are always on these cars even just the bodies. Clear title and a little more and this car is complete. Must have a good ebay rating to bid on this beauty. Can't take reserve all the way off so next bid is high buyer. On Apr-24-16 at 01:50:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry so gruff. My wife talked me into letting my dream project go since we are moving. Car is straight and I'm guessing someone will get a steal. AirborneOn Apr-25-16 at 22:37:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to take pictures of the engine compartment and am currently out of town so I will not be able too. I apologize for that, but as stated above it's a inline 6 (have no idea if it's original to the car but am guessing probably is). It's not pretty and chromed out like you see on here. It's functional, and by that I mean it's a solid engine that someone could pretty out. I was planning on dropping a big V8 and a manual transmission into the car. It has a solid, straight frame and body. Like stated above when you start the car and drive it, it has a bad shimmy and I thought the engine mounts were broke but after taking it to a licensed mechanic he says it is the torque converter. My back is so gone that I can't drop the tranny and find out for sure. The transmission shifts as it should, but once again it has the clutch pedal in place ready for a manual transmission. Someone with a good back and a weekend could probably have this running smooth down the road. I have to move for medical reasons and am sick but I have to let her go before I can save up the money for someone to put those in for me. The body is straight also. Things to be done are headliner and chrome around windows, which I will give you. Torque converter. Then you decide where to take her. Fix the torque converter and drive her while you finish the touches you want. This isn't a numbers restoration, but it is a true 1965 Mustang that can be whatever you want. With all the aftermarket parts, it's ridiculous. But it's pretty much done if you want a daily driver except for what I stated above. I've seen just the body for higher reserves on here. Trust me Mustang lovers this is making me sick.
