Looking to build a high performance WRX? Look no further, this is the perfect opportunity to get started at a much lower cost. Up for auction is a 2005 Subaru WRX with no compression in the front right cylinder. The car has been used by a single owner as a daily driver since '05 until this week when the engine problem arose. Never modified or raced, however an aftermarket turbo down-pipe was installed to replace OEM after the factory pipe was incorrectly diagnosed as being cracked/leaking prior to engine failure. Body: The body is straight with the exception of minor dings here and there expected with a 10 year old vehicle. Glass: No cracks. Dark tint. Paint: Overall the paint is fair, but again does show the expected surface scratches and wear of a 10 year old vehicle. The paint behind the door handles has worn away from use. The drivers side A-pillar has been scratched heavily. The black paint has worn away from the rear window trim on both sides as well. See pics Wheels/Tires: The front wheels have scarring on the lip from rubbing curb (see pics). All tires hold air and have decent tread (1/3 remaining). Interior: The leather on the steering wheel and shift knob are heavily worn from use. Leather is worn through at the top of the steering wheel (see pics). Dash has no tears or cracks. The seats/carpet do not have any tears/holes. Door panels are in great shape. All instrumentation, A/C and heat work. Fabric, carpet and center console will need cleaning. See pics. Drivetrain: Transmission, brakes and AWD system all function properly. No leaks apparent. Engine: Engine has no compression and will require replacement or rebuild. No compression in front right cylinder diagnosed and engine replacement recommended by local shop. The vehicle is located in Sarasota, Fl.
