a 55K mile, lightly used, Cooper S purchased from a woman whose growing family made it too small. This Mini is Chili-Red in color (that's actually the BMW color designation) with power double sunroofs having sunscreens, one-touch electric windows, factory tint all round, black leather seats with white piping (and Heat), power mirrors/brakes/sunroofs/locks, front/rear wipers-washers, RW Defroster, excellent heat and A/C, excellent sound system and so much more. I am not a stranger to the Mini, having had an ENGLISH-Built 1959 Mini back at University. It handled great (like this one), parked anywhere (like this one) but could keep you awake at night by the sound of the parts falling off in the driveway (unlike this one). So this time around I decided to buy a GERMAN mini (BMW solved the parts-falling-off thing) This is the model with the supercharger. You don't even know its there until you need it, like passing a slowpoke or choosing an on-ramp and then the comfy mild-mannered little sedan changes character and suddenly goes to warp-5. Just step on the gas and it downshifts and flies... you can put the tranny into "M" mode and use the paddle shifters to go up/down through the gears but as befits my age (75 this coming May) I like to keep one hand free for coffee. As a father of two and grandfather of three, I drive it sedately and get 29/30 MPG around town and 33/34 MPG on trips in Cruise Control at 75 MPH. Cheap gas will only last till OPEC finds it in their best interests to cut production, and then sport-sedans like this one will be appreciated for much more than their looks and handling, thrifty will be important again. The rear seats fold forward (see pics) giving the feel/usability of a small stationwagon. From the receipts and such the car has has synthetic oil since its birth (and I continued this). The cheapest investment in engine longevity is clean synthetic oil every 6 months. A bit more frequent than required but a good idea. Paint and appearance is very-good to excellent. One small star in the windshield, It is not very noticeable. I did not get my 100% EBAY rating by failing to disclose flaws that help the seller to make an informed bid. My FEEDBACK speaks for itself, perhaps you could read it? My age is making it harder and harder to enjoy the car (getting in and out is increasingly difficult) and so I am selling to move into something quite a bit larger. The car comes with receipts and had new rotors/pads just last year. I still owe 7K on it but the Credit Union simply hands over the title upon payment. NADA has the car (with similar mileage/equip) at $8700 for a clean trade and $10,900. for a clean retail sale, so mine is priced right . And remember, when you buy "lo-miles" you get fewer breakdowns, fewer component failures. And yes I know there are $5000. minis out there with mileage in excess of 100K, or with Salvage-titles.... but in this life you get what you pay for. NOTE: price is as low as it gets, act accordingly or I keep it.
