It was shipped directly from the Chevrolet factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the Callaway Cars facility in Corona, California. The Callaway craftsmen, considered to be “the best specialists in the business,” then began a major automobile project of extensive improvements to the engine, brakes, suspension, custom hand built body and interior, exclusive carbon wheels and high performance tires. The C16 is powered by a very special supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 engine that was machined, assembled and dyno-tested by expert craftsmen in Callaway’s state of the art engine shop. The 650 horsepower V8 engine specifications were developed by Callaway engineers applying the companies established high power - perfect drivability - extended durability philosophy. The C16 exterior body was hand finished and painted in gorgeous Tungsten Silver with contrasting Silver hood bulge by Kye Yeung of European Motor Car Works in Santa Ana, California. The Deutschlefer interior is a work of art.
