You are bidding on a 1974 1/2 Penton 250cc Hare Scrambler. This bike was raced in AHRMA in 2004-2009. Last raced at the Chehalis "Farm" race. Very competitive in +50 and Sportsman 250cc expert. This bike has a brand new zero hours un-started complete engine build new done by "Chicago" Jerry. Expert maintained bike. I have reassembled the bike with new build engine (complete build new crank, top-end, piston, bore, bearings, seals, etc) Due to my business demands, I no longer have time to work on projects, and am thinning my vintage bikes out as my racing is more limited now. Bike is 95% complete, but needs a few items to complete and be race-ready. Motor is totally new, full Chicago Jerry build, zero hours un-started Progressive aluminum body shocks. Bike is 74 1/2 so has the multiple shock mount positions for vintage, and the "cantilever" mount option if you wish to race in post-vintage Historic class. Excellent shape magnesium hubs, wheels decent alloy rims, Correct gearing for motocross. Michelin S12 tires for great grip on all but hard pack terrain Very nice OEM stock motocross pipe with best power silencer, great power delivery Needs right rear motor mount and countershaft nut to complete. I can furnish bike with an older Bing carb or brand new Mikuni 36mm (manifold is set up for Bing at present). Bings make best power, but due to harder to find parts and slide wear etc, harder to keep maintained, brand new Mikuni is s mother , flatter power delivery, but once tuned no work needed ongoing.
