Vehicle Detail
This car was purchased for a frame off restoration project. Three years latter I have a very nice Historic Driver. We belong to a British car club and have been enjoying this car participating in club touring events and shows. The car was stripped down to a bare frame and then the restoration was started. All new suspension components were installed, the steering was rebuilt, Toyota 4 piston front calipers were added along with new rotors and front shocks. The front and rear wheel bearings were installed and new rear brake shoes. New rear springs were installed and rebuilt rear shock absorbers. The engine was overhauled and the transmission was checked out at a professional British car shop. A GM alternator kit was added and the ground was changed to negative. The engine has SU carburetors, spin on oil filter, and a high capacity water pump. An electric fan was installed, but is only needed in slow parade situations. All of the body panels and engine compartment were soda blasted, primed, and painted Signal Red by a professional shop. New floor pans and sills were installed on the body tub. The floor pans and trunk floor was coated with Rhino truck bed material rust, noise, and heat protection. New black carpets were installed. Tan leather seats, door panels, and new top were installed. A chrome roll bar and shoulder seat belts were added. All of the gauges work properly. The speedometer/odometer was rebuilt so the exact mileage is not known. This car is a nice appearing example of and early British sports car. The goal of the project was to have a fun, safe, drivable club car.
