Vehicle Detail

RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT This is my 2003 Ford Focus SVT 3-door hatchback. I purchased the car brand new from Homer Skelton Ford in Olive Branch, MS (suburban Memphis) in October 2003 as an end of year model clearance. In the time I have owned the car it has been a solid means of transportation. I have driven the car from Memphis over the Appalachian Mountains to the NC Piedmont and taken it up the East Coast a number of times. My family & I own property in the NC Mountains and the Focus has never struggled climbing up the hills in 12+ years of ownership. This Focus currently has approximately 125,400 miles. Most of these miles are highway miles as I previously commuted 107 1/2 miles one way / 215 miles round-trip daily x5 = 1075 miles/week to and from work. I'm selling the car because that commute nearly killed me, and I've been working abroad for the past five years. Over the years I had planned on something coming together and I'd repatriate back to the US full-time but that seems unlikely today. I don't need a vehicle as a means of transportation today, and when I came home for the Holidays this time to find the clear coat peeling (see photo), I decided that it's time to let go of my first new car. In purchasing the car, you'll get the SVT Team documentation, the temporary license plates, and all other documentation involving the history of the car. I keep meticulous records and anything that was done to the car, I have the record. Also, I have a set of windshield replacement wipers that I will include, as well. As you can see from the pictures, the car is solid shape. That said, it is not brand new. The problems I know of the car: ***The sunroof will not open. It tilts up/down but has come off the frame and will not open.***The A/C does work but due to the car sitting, it needs freon. I have a can of freon that will come with the car, but the location to add the freon is very low to the ground and I'm unable to reach it.***The radio works & I replaced the antenna with an aftermarket one. However, the CD player does not work.***The floor mats are the original ones issued by Ford. The driver's side is worn out with a hole & I ended up leaving the passenger floor mat at a car wash place years ago. In essence, you will need two front floor mats.***The pin that holds the cover to the hatch back has broken on one side. The other side holds the cover fine & the pin could be glued.***During the second winter after buying the car (2005), there was an ice storm here in Metrolina and I bumped into another car. The police were called and the officer determined no one was at fault, but for insurance purposes, paperwork was written. This is the reason why the CarFax comes up as being involved in an accident. There was no damage to my car and minor paint scraping to her car.***The car was hit in a parking lot years ago (2004, I think?) and the passenger front fender was replaced. It was minor and caused no structural damage. I believe that same fender was dinged again.***The original windshield has been replaced. A semi-truck threw up a rock and caused two starbursts just above the line of vision for the driver. I was able to pass inspection for years, but, eventually, one place I took it for inspection wouldn't pass it and the windshield was replaced. Shortly after replacing the windshield "Ground Hog Day" occurred. Your state may require you to replace the windshield, again. I have listed the starting price at $1600 USD as CarMamatter. For my ZIP code, KBB lists a value of approximately $3500 USD & NADA lists a retail value of $4400 USD & a trade-in value of $2150 USD. I have listed the starting price at $1600 USD as CarMax has offered to cut me a check on the spot for this amount and I'm done with the matter. If you win this auction, please contact me within 48 hours to proceed with payment and pickup/delivery options. I live exactly 17 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport/CLT, the 24th largest airport in the world. Amtrak and Greyhound is just a few miles away. I don't mind meeting you at any of these locations to surrender the car. Fly/ride into Metrolina and drive away. As noted, I work overseas and will head back to work shortly after Christmas. I'm on a tight time frame. ****Someone messaged me about the tires. The tires have little road wear but the car has been parked for the most part since Sept 2011. I haven't noticed any issues with them when I've been on the road. LEGAL: THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED, WRITTEN, OR IMPLIED. ALTHOUGH EVERY EFFORT IS MADE IN PART TO ACCURATELY DESCRIBE THE VEHICLE, IS IT THE BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSESS THIS CAR MEETS THEIR NEEDS. I RESEVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY AS THE VEHICLE IS LISTED IN OTHER PUBLICATIONS.
