Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a pretty special Laguna Blue 1966 Corvette Sting Ray coupe. It features a balanced and blueprinted matching numbers 327 cubic inch, 300 hp V8 mated to the legendary Powerglide automatic transmission. What makes this particular Corvette special beyond its very original condition is the unusual combination of features found on this Sting Ray. It will be very difficult to find another 1966 Corvette finished in Laguna blue that also features an automatic transmission, factory sidepipe exhaust, original teak steering wheel AND original knock--off wheels. The wheels alone, if you were to shop for them separately, would be valued somewhere between $10-15,000. Here is a link to a photo album of many close-up photos of the undercarriage plus several photos of the engine while in the rebuilding process: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97286492@N06/albums/72157659873680094 This Corvette is ready to be driven and enjoyed as its being offered. The motor is very strong. I've put about 200 miles on the car during my ownership and it has been nothing but pure Corvette performance all the way. The paint is either original or a very old respray, so it has a wonderful patina that is one of the main reasons I was attracted to this car. And Laguna blue is just a stunning color for the coupe, especially when you consider its rarity. The only items I've found to be in need of attention are the windshield wipers, which don't work at all, and the stereo, which does not come up to full volume. In my experience, this usually means the speaker has decided to retire after 50 years. It is currently riding on Michelin X tires that I can only assume were fitted sometime in the mid-70's. I've included photos of the cowl tag and the numbers on the motor for your convenience. Please let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer for you, or if you'd like to come out and look it over in person, please let me know. And interesting trades are always welcome. I'm particularly into Mopars and Cadillacs, but I love all classic cars. This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
