Vehicle Detail

For your consideration: 1998 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible. V6/2.5L. White over gray. Optioned as follows: Leather interior, air condition, cruise control, power windows and locks, power driver's seat, tilt wheel, Autostick 4 spd. transmission, AM/FM/CASS/CD premium factory stereo. Includes factory, boot tonneau cover. I bought this vehicle about a year ago, primarily as a pleasure/weekend vehicle. 144K on the clock when I took possession, and I've enjoyed a little over 2k, trouble-free miles. The car had a couple of issues when I first purchased. The rear window (glass) had become detached along the bottom and the driver's side, quarter window was inoperative. The former I remedied by having a seamstress fabricate a replacement panel out of weather grade material. It was bonded to the glass and top material with 3M WindowWeld, and the interior seam waterproofed as well. The latter was remedied by replacing the window/motor cartridge that I purchased online and installed myself. To be honest the car cleans-up and photographs a bit better than it appears, IRL. Though not exhaustive, here are list of the vehicle's deficiencies: -Oil Warning Light Flickers at low RPM: I noted this before I bought the vehicle and researched a bit before purchasing. A known issue with this engine, and there's a service bulletin out and a fairly easy fix. Has not been a concern for me, once I determined that the oil pump and sending unit were fine.-Power Door Locks Inop: After first starting and accelerating, lock motors will engage, and at times the driver's side will lock. Locks operate manually just fine, and the factory alarm DOES ARM if the door locks are engaged with the switch or with the key. -Paint and Interior: Both Present well, but are far from perfect. Rocker panels on both sides are a bit scratched and the paint has numerous defects. NO RUST. I've tried to note the most notable areas of concern with the interior. The leather is a touch discolored in some places, though overall still in very serviceable condition. The traction control, ABS and check engine light(s) have been on the entire time I've owned the car, but again, I've had no problems in the year I've owned/driven it. If you're an NC purchaser, the check engine light won't be an issue for another year, as an inspection is not required at time of title transfer. The canvas top is in great condition and it opens/closes flawlessly. The HVAC operates just fine; A/C cold and heater blows hot. Battery placed prior to my purchase. I left an interior light on and the battery drained to nada. After less than five minutes on a high output charger it started right up, so I have no doubt the power source is relatively new. This is an 18 year old car, pedestrian automobile, so don't be thinking anywhere near concours d'Elegance condition. What it is, however, is a reliable drop-top, that you can purchase for the price of a rusted-out Miata, and have room for more than just a blond and a six'er... Winning bidder at auction end agrees to the following:1) Contact seller within 12 hours of auction close, to confirm intention of consummating the transaction.2) $125.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction close, unless other arrangements are made in accordance with item 1. 3) Failure to abide with items 1 & 2 will result in item being offered to next highest bidder. 4) Full payment within 7 days of auction end. Vehicle will be available for inspection/test drive on 12-5 and 12-6. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or clarifications, as I'm sure I've likely missed something along the way. I've been a member of the ebay community for almost 15 year and have always tried to be forthright and honest about all items I list for sale. Please be courteous of others and bid only if you intend to purchase the car. Sold as is, where is. If you've got a BIN number in mind, let me know. Not looking to get rich here...just trying to finance my next vehicle project. Will assist however possible if you elect to have the vehicle picked up and shipped at your expense. As always, bid early and often and thank you for looking. On Dec-06-15 at 15:29:46 PST, seller added the following information: Couple of items I failed to note in the initial listing, but came to mind when I was going over vehicle again this past weekend: 1) Power steering rack squeaks a bit on initial start-up after several days of sitting. No leak in located and reservoir is full. Could be a loose belt. Quiets down after within a shorty as soon as the car is warmed up. 2) Noisy tires. All four match, with decent tread, but I have no doubt the car would benefit from an alignment & balance. Not much of an issue for me as I drove as a rule with the top down & radio up, but it is noticeable with the top in place. As I said, this car photographs well, but please be realistic with your expectations, and if you want a pampered, mint example, pass on mine and pony up $2-4k for the other examples currently offered on eBay. As a weekend/pleasure car, its been an absolute gem. While I have no way of knowing, impressment into service as a daily driver could go without a hitch or expose shortcomings I never experienced. Again, as is where is, and I thank all the folks who've expressed an interest in my listing.
