The pictures truly speak for themselves. I have owned many ‘vintage’ BMWs, but have never seen one in this condition. It’s simply beautiful. There is ZERO rust on this car… ZERO. Paint is near perfect. The interior looks and smells new. Dash is perfect, clock works, antennae mast works, all electric systems work (windows, central locking, sunroof, lights, etc.). All leather, trim, and rubber is still soft and pliable. The engine bay and chassis are in as remarkable condition as well… Although this e23 is in unbelievable condition, it is still a used car that is 36 years old. There are some extremely minor imperfections in the paint, and a small gash in the rear bumper trim. Also the tuner knob on the original Blaupunkt stereo is missing. It starts, runs, and drives as you would expect a luxury BMW with 43k miles to. However, I have noticed that the brake calipers seem a little ‘sticky’, probably from being in storage. For a more thorough description, I’d be happy to talk about the car via phone… but only for truly serious buyers (847-644-3747). I am not a dealer. This is my own personal car, and the title is in my name. Willing to help out in any way with shipping if needed, but that responsibility will ultimately fall to the buyer. Thank you and good luck!UPDATE: For all the eBay questions and BaT readers (thanks for the positive comments) out there... the HVAC system works perfectly; all fan speeds, settings, heat, A/C (though not 'ice' cold). The antennae mast works. I do have a set of 16" Style 5 e38 wheels that I will include in the sale if you're not a fan of the original 14 inters. Unfortunately I do not know a lot regarding the history of this car, but I believe it was originally sold in Nashville TN. It includes the original BMW owners manual, Blaupunkt manual, and a few old oil change/service stickers that are still stuck on the drivers door. And last but certainly not least... there is really ZERO RUST, most of the chassis and undercarriage paint is still fresh looking. I can send you a link to about 100 more photos - they are impressive!
