This is my commuter car that I bought on August 26, 2014 with 175204 miles when I started a new job 34 miles away from my house. It has been primarily used to drive from Hoboken, NJ to Basking Ridge, NJ, which is 90% highway (Route 78). I am now getting an all electric vehicle. The car has always been kept in a heated garage. It never let me down. It always started without problems and I consistently got > 46 mpg with it. Last weekend, I did a longer trip (to Western PA) and got an average of 50.4 mpg. I could get 50 mpg if I were just going between my house and work, but dropping off/picking up kids at school and soccer practice etc. in Hoboken and Jersey City (when you have to stop at almost every block) is really bad for the gas mileage. I have the service records from the previous owner (through "myToyota"). He had it always serviced at a Toyota dealership. I went to Toyota only once for service, but then just did oil/filter changes at 5000 miles intervals at a local workshop where you don't have to wait for 3 hours, but you can stay with the vehicle and see what they are doing. I just got the oil changed (Castrol 5W30 high mileage oil). It has a smart key (I have the spare key as well) which is a really nice feature because you never have to take the key out of your pocket. The other "fancy" feature is a back-up camera. The car has a lot of miles on it, but I always have to think of the Austrian taxi driver who drove one million kilometers (roughly 600000 miles) with his Gen 2 Prius with no major repairs (just regular oil changes) From the outside, the car is in good condition, but there are scratches on the rear right side (see picture). They were already there when I bought the car. The inside looks pretty good, too, especially given the fact that I drove 3 kids around in it on a daily basis. Yes, you can fit three booster seats in the back. But the floor mats have a lot of stains and the seats are not impeccable, either. Please have a look at the car before you bid as everybody has different standards when it comes to the cleanliness of the interior. I never smoked, and nobody has smoked in the car since I bought it. Not sure about the previous owner. My wife is the only one who thinks that someone must have smoked in the car, but she is very sensitive. In the spirit of full disclosure: About 3000 miles ago, there were no dashlights (including no speedometer display) when I turned the car on. When I arrived at work, it took my several attempts to turn the car off. This seems to be a common problem and may be an indicator that the 12V auxiliary battery needs to be replaced soon. There is a youtube video about how to fix that. For me, it has never happened again. I have tried to describe the Prius the best I could and I urge you to come by and inspect the car yourself before you place a bid. The car is located in Hoboken, NJ. I will continue to use it as my commuter car, so expect a few more miles on it (Next week (Thanksgiving), I will only drive to work twice, though). As it is customary for private car sales, the car is sold AS IS with no warranty. I will not ship. You will have to come in person and pick up the car. Don't hesitate to ask any questions.
