Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara in beautiful “Jeep Green” metallic clear coat paint with a dark khaki top (VIN 1J4FA54108L540556).The Jeep features the 3.8 liter V6 engine with approximately 83,400 miles and paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Sahara power features air conditioning, but with cloth seats that beckon to its true Jeep roots. I purchased this vehicle last year and have put less than 8,000 miles on it since, but an overseas move is forcing its early sale. That’s unfortunate because it’s been such a great vehicle to drive in both the snowy winter and the sunny summers. It’s easily become one of the favorite vehicles I’ve ever owned. I intended to keep the Jeep much longer and spent a considerable time “baselining” the maintenance, which included changing all fluids (engine, transmission, front and rear differentials, and coolant) and filters (engine and air). I used top quality synthetic oils throughout and the special Mopar-prescribed coolant. I also recently replaced the spark plugs and plug wires...again, nothing but top quality products used. I had a local axle & gear specialist replace the factory 3.21 axle gears with 4.10 limited slip gears to make the Jeep a bit more driver-friendly in the city and on the highway. Even with the gear change, I maintain a consistent 17mpg in mixed driving and have achieved 20-22 mpg on the interstate. The battery was replaced and the brakes were serviced recently by the previous owner. I purchased the Jeep with a check engine light, which turned out to be a simple fouled O2 sensor. I replaced all four with top-quality Denso sensors. It also had a small oil leak on the water pump (common for this engine) and had the water pump replaced to fix the problem. The Jeep also came to me with non-functioning key remotes, so I ordered and programmed two new keys at my local Jeep dealer (about $400 for the pair). The original, non-functioning keys still manually unlock the doors and start the Jeep, but the remote lock/unlock buttons don’t work. All keys are included in the sale. The body and interior are not flawless by any means and it does have the normal wear and tear for an 83,000+ mile vehicle. It’s a stock vehicle and because nobody’s lifted it or played with the suspension, it not only looks great, but it drives perfectly. The powertrain is great with no known issues and there is no pulling, wobbling, or anything else in the steering. It can be easily driven with a fingertip at highway speeds. There is the usual undercarriage rust, but nothing significant on the frame and no body rust. I'm not sure if that's attributable to the prior owner's maintenance or the fact that it's a Canadian export, but it's far cleaner than most Michigan Jeeps I've seen. I do have a Yaesu FT-1900 2-meter HAM radio installed in the Jeep and may consider including it for an additional $100 for a fellow HAM operator. Otherwise, I can remove the radio, antenna, and associated wiring. I have a clear Alaska title in hand and this vehicle is ready to sell. Aside from all that, I spent quite a bit of time improving the Jeep, such as: Replacing the pitiful OEM headlamps with upgraded Quadratec LED lamps, as well as installing LED bulbs in the fog lamps, interior dome lights, and reverse lights. Jeeps have a bad reputation for poor lighting, and these simple upgrades vastly improve visibility inside and out. I also added the PIAA light bar and driving lamps to improve nighttime visibility.Installed a Tuffy Security lock box under passenger seat (both keys included)Upgraded the Alpine 9-speaker stereo with a Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS with Bluetooth connectivity (and many other features). I’ve also installed a ProClips iPhone mount that I can include in the sale or removed. Also included in the sale: Hard, Soft, and Duster/Windjammer/Bimini Tops (see below)Spiderweb front sunshade (seen in photos with hardtop installed)Quadratec ‘spill proof’ front floor matsOBDII code reader and programmerRear headrestsRollbar grab handlesRunning Boards (I removed them as I planned to install sliders, but never got to it. The mounts for the running boards are in poor condition with significant surface rust, so I never reinstalled them.)All OEM parts I removed Here are the basic details from the Jeep’s build sheet (with some updates): 2008 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA 4X4VIN 1J4FA54108L540556Jeep Green Metallic ClearcoatDark/Medium Khaki Interior with Premium Cloth Low-Back Bucket SeatsDark Khaki Fiberglass HardtopDark Khaki Sunrider Soft Top (the soft top is in fair condition, but it is complete)Black Bestop Duster/Windjammer/Bimini Top (excellent condition, less than one year old)3.8L V6 SMPI Engine6-Speed Manual NSG370 TransmissionCommand-Trac Shift-on-the-Fly 4WDNext Gen. All of those were applied during this past summer and will be removed upon sale (unless the buyer specifies otherwise). The paint should be unfazed by the stickers given they were only on for a few months. On Nov-24-15 at 19:04:57 PST, seller added the following information: Update: I have run the CARFAX report on the Jeep as of 24 November 2015 and will provide it to reassure potential buyers. The Jeep has a clean history and the CARFAX even reflects the brake service, new battery, and odometer reading a little over one year ago. If you would like a copy of that CARFAX report, please message me through eBay and provide an email address. Thanks for looking. -John
