Vehicle Detail
Not your everyday 68 Camaro: 4-wheel power disc brakes, F/R spoilers, oversize alum. Rad, 1 1/8th antisway bar, full racing ladder-bar rear suspension, 12-bolt rear and more. Mostly new, almost finished, see all 24 pics. Bought the basic body/frames all media blasted. Used up two quarts of POR-15 (brushed on) as preservative, flowed it into the folded/inside areas of hood/trunk/fenders/etc. Gave it two weeks to dry (per instructions on can). then coated it with rustolium enamel on all inside and bottom areas. Should be as rustproof as the average fiberglass vette. Then coated the outside areas with two coats of Rustolium HD-primer. NEW: long block wth warranty, edlebrock-alum-intake, Holly-600CFM dual-feed carb, alternator, water-pump, fuel pump, SS down- Pypes, 2.5 inch glasspacks, Sears Diehard Batt, new wiring from Painless, hi-tork starte, torque converter, shifter, break lines soft/hard, gas tank, mirrors, power-brake-booster and splitter block, oversize sway bar, Z-28 and 302CI emblems, rear bumper, HEI dist. and coil, tinted windshield, windshield stainless trim, heater blower motor, belts-hoses, dash switches, dash Pad, HEADliner, KYB gas shocks, W-W trans, battery cables and bumper brackets F/R, Alum. racing- quality radiator, gas tank + fillerneck/tubing, master cylinder, crossmember for TH-350 trans, glass-paks and wheel trim, steering wheel glove, lock sets, plug wires and plugs, shock plates, all new bulbs/headlights, taillight lenses, and ... another half inch of receipts covering SO much more. Between purchase and parts I have 18,400. in the car. Since it requires some completion I am looking to get about two-thirds of it back. Rebuilt: TH350 with warrently, custom driveshaft, For those of us who follow Camaros... you can now buy a New Camaro "tub" from Dynacorn for 12,000. You get a tub and doors/trunk. Nothing else. Shipping for a 1600-LB box runs about 1,500. So call it all in at 13,500. and then you start with the POR-15 and buy all the stuff above. (but also including F fenders, hood, front valence and Rad Structure) for about 9,000. more. And then you assemble it (or pay someone to do it) So you begin with about 22,000. or so and are Starting-Assembly. You can get into mine way cheaper, and with 8-months of labor for free (stuff you do not have to do). The excellent interior is black. The new headliner is white. Both have to be installed (I have all the screw/stud/pushpin kits from Classic Industries) Work needed: install new gas-tank + tubing, install new shifter, Install new distribtor, complete new wiring, block-sand and paint car. and I am sure that some small stuff is also there like installing the windshield trim (after painting) and such. I should have finished the gas tank install by tomorrow, next step would be the shifter, then the distributor, and so on. But I am short of time and money, engine is a 4-bolt-main block assembled by Chevrolet. TH350 is a fully stock rebuild by Total Transmission of Lakewood Co. send questions? and bid often. On Nov-17-15 at 19:31:14 PST, seller added the following information: thanks for the question, I was planning to make a Clone of the Mark Donahue 68 Camaro that won the 68 Trans Am series in a big way. That's why the 302CI and Z-28 badging. The new owner (if the reserve is met) can decide if he wants the same Sunoco Blue paint. Penske had gotten Sunoco on board to foot some of the bills .... hence the paint. A bit of history: that Camaro has actually been found and restored several years ago. Mark would be proud. On Nov-18-15 at 08:05:41 PST, seller added the following information: questions: Is the title clear .... yes, clear Colorado title in hand. shipping to Hawaii .... you would need to call a shipping company that would 1) truck it from Denver to Ca. port, 2) ship it from Ca. to Hawaii by ship. You said you got an estimate of 1200. ? CHECK to be sure that the estimate includes both legs of the shipping. Does it run right now? not being a smart aleck but did you read the ad? Please read it? the engine has never been fired. Mechanically the car is a bit of a virgin. Read the part of the ad where I described the new stuff, and what is needing to be done before it is fired up?. I did put 5 quarts of high-zinc-content break-in oil in her crankcase, then I filled the oil-filter with the same oil before threading it to the engine. The rebuilt TH350 sits empty. Total Trans, the people who rebuilt it, said wait till time to start it, put in 5 quarts and turn the engine over to start filling the tork-converter. Keep checking the level and adding quarts till it shows full between the two marks. then start/idle till NOT is reached. Check it again. Are floors/sills/quarters Original? I bought it cause the previous owner send me pics showing solid panels all round. There was a hole in the taillight panel to the right of the gas cap. It had Battery-wiring going to it that suggested a "kill switch", probably tied to its background in racing. A good solid Camaro but I cannot gurantee that all the panels are original. A 50 year old car that has been loved/improved/repaired by prior owners? On Nov-18-15 at 08:31:06 PST, seller added the following information: power steering? I forgot to mention it in the ad. it does have power steering. The pump and resorvior seemed to be good so I bought the from/to lines. It also has power assist on the brakes, may have forgotten to mention that either. Why an automatic? I wanted to look/sound like 'Donahue" for the 20 or so "Cruise Nights" that Denver has at various driveIns and parks. Plus a hyway-cruiser that I could take on a driving vacation. At my age, automatic makes sense. On Nov-18-15 at 13:38:07 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE: new gas tank + fillerneck +cap are now installed. Tomorrow is the fitting/hookup of the new fueltube to front (fuelpump) THEN (weather permitting) fit the shifter. the car is at the stage where things go together quickly and with clean hands. NiceOn Nov-18-15 at 14:07:54 PST, seller added the following information: Thank you Jos, Jos asked the question about 'are all the parts needed to finish INCLUDED?" Yes they are; full interior (excellent shape) with new headliner, new W/S trim, badging, mirrors (I/O), new shifter assembly, new headlight surrounds, new dashboard switches, New glovebox and glovebox lockand so on. Even the battery and cables are new Sears Diehard......and now the gastank is installed, took less work than I thought. I even have the 10 quarts of highend tranny fluid and antifreeze. Everything that goes with the car will be packed inside. On Nov-19-15 at 07:53:24 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE: went through my receipts again. I have not bought an Air-Cleaner for the car, also the rear shocks will need to be installed, the KYB-gasshocks and mounting brackets are included already. There will be other small items .... I have throughout the build, bought new hardware wherever possible. New bolts/nuts just make sense on a car this valuable (it is also much easier to assemble) STORAGE: I have no problem storing the car free for 30 days, after 30 days it will cost you $125 per month for the storage unit seen in the pictures.
