This 1978 Mercury Marquis 4 Door Sedan - former Missouri State Patrol vehicle driven by a area commander as unmarked police vehicle. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER WITH NO RESERVE. NO Warranties stated or implied on this car or anything included with it. This would be a Great car for shows or for the Police Vehicle Collector. Would also make a great highway cruiser and could also make a great tow vehicle. This car was built with everything Heavy Duty for Police work and also has 3 Way Sirens, police radio and antenna and 2 portable police dash red flashing lights included. The Heavy Duty factory installed options as follows: 1. HD Suspension 2. HD Automatic Transmission 3. HD Cooling System 4. HD Alternator 5. HD Wiring 6. HD Frame 7. 4 Wheel Disc Brakes 8. Extra complete set of full wheel covers. 21. 3 way working sirens and police radio. FINE PRINT - The clear coat on this car is shot so the car does need a repaint. We see only two rather small rust spots that need to be attended to (see photos). Tires look very good but they are over 10 years old so we recommend that they be REPLACED DUE TO AGE. AC we believe only may need a recharge as it was working prior to the car being put into extended storage. Gas guage is not working. This car RUNS AND DRIVES QUITE WELL and the brakes appear to work correctly with no pulling or fade. We are offering this car with NO RESERVE but we hope to see a police car collector or someone who would enjoy a large car like this (they don't make cars 21 feet long like this anymore). There are possibly other things that may need to be repaired or attended to BUT THIS CAR DRIVES WELL AS IS. All Police Equipment included in and with this car are for show and display purposes only. On Nov-13-15 at 18:16:08 PST, seller added the following information: In moving this car around the past few days while listed the carburetor (possibly choke) is acting up (probably also from lack of use). It starts up and runs but keeps stalling??? We do not know why it is doing this now as I drove it a few weeks ago about 20 miles and it ran fine. This cars gas tank was drained completely and it has only fresh High Test Gas in the tank. We also just received written confirmation from the Missouri State Highway Patrol that this car was originally purchased by them. We also have a Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy (this will be included with the car) book that was at one time assigned to the officer, who we believe was assigned this car when new. Although a police car when new it was never a marked car or used for regular patrol work as far as we have been told.
