2004 Mercury Mountaineer All Wheel Drive - 52,483 One Owner CarFax Documented Miles - No Accidents - 4.6 V8 Engine This truck goes to the highest bidder. No Reserve! There is a noise in the motor. I am surprised and the owner I purchased the car from can't believe it. The CarFax meticulously documents the mileage and the title says "NEW" and was issued 2/15/05. There is no "Check Engine" light on and it actually runs strong and smooth. No misfire, leaks, smoking or slippage. The computer monitors are fully set and will pass NY State inspection. To pass a NY State safety inspection it will need an axle bearing and rear stabilizer bushings. (I was surprised at this since it makes no noise or gives any indication of wear on those parts.) The axle bearing has play in it. It can be driven locally - I drove it about 20 miles and expected it to break down. To my surprise the noise never got worse and it drove well. NY State residents must add NY State sales tax, a $37.00 NY State inspection fee and $400.00 for the axle bearing repair and stabilizer bushings. Out of state buyers will purchase it in "As Is" condition. There are no warranties or guarantees. The 20" tires and brakes are fine. Body is straight and shiny - no dents or rust. Interior is nice, but the owner was a smoker and the truck could use a good detailing. Passenger side mirror is cracked. The vehicle has potential and very low miles. New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
