Offered here is a beautiful original condition 1950 Mercury coupe finished in its original black paint. It has just come out of a single 40 year ownership. A set of wide white wall tires looks impeccable and a front windshield sun shade adds just the right touch. A set of chrome search lights also adds to the classic 1950s look. Mercury’s front grille treatment for 1950 was a marvel of design with an abundance of chrome and matching large front bumper. The interior of this Mercury is nicely preserved with the original upholstery covered in clear plastic for preservation and protection. Mercury’s dashboard treatment was downright futuristic with dials, switches, and gauges all within easy reach of the driver. Power for this Mercury comes from a 255.4 cubic-inch Flathead V-8 rated at 110 horsepower. It runs and drives very well, and the all original chrome is in great condition as well. This is one of the finest all original examples in existence. The Mercury name has now been relegated to the pages of history, but that history comes alive in this nicely preserved example. For cruising in style in one the best examples of early 1950s styling, this Mercury is a car that’s ready for the Friday night cruise or Concours car show.
