Offered is a 1988 VW Scirocco. I have a clear Connecticut title in hand from 2003. I drove the car briefly and then put the car in storage and went on to other pursuits. It is not registered at the present time. I just drove the car briefly and the engine is mechanically fine, with a 5-speed transmission. The brakes work well. Didn't try the air conditioning, but would image it needs a recharge. The tires are old, but hold air. The factory paint overall looks quite good, with some minor chips and scratches. The interior is not torn or shabby.....and can be seen in one of the pictures. The Scirocco could stand a good cleaning and a coat of wax. The mileage when I purchased the car was 109,756. Present mileage is 109,857. On Nov-02-15 at 06:54:38 PST, seller added the following information: Just opened the sun roof for the first time in a long time.....it opens but it is cranky and needs lubrication. You get the feeling you could break the crank if you weren't careful. The dash is not cracked. However, someone glued a strip of velcro on top, which can be seen in one of the images. Did not try to remove it. The power steering works well. The clear coat on the wheels is oxidizing through in places, and they would need to be re-coated. What we have got here is a nice solid, mechanically sound car, but one that needs a lot of TLC and cleaning. I bought the car 15 years because of my fascination with the twin-cam engine. Always planned to detail it, drive it. Am in my 70's and it's not going to happen!! On Nov-06-15 at 16:21:32 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked about rust in the floors, so today I moved the car to a level viewing area, jacked up one side and then the other, and the car is absolutely sound, no rot through at all. The floor still has the original rubberized coating. I noticed light surface rust on the oil pan. Also, the muffler (which sounds fine) is about to come through on the bottom. On Nov-08-15 at 06:28:29 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked about the condition of the gas in the fuel tank. This car has been run at least once a year and every summer the fuel has been siphoned from the tank and replaced with fresh.
